    Dual "fast wind" mini-motor build

I know the question was directed to Motomech, but I suggest you take a look at this impressive web page where you can get photos, specs, schematics, and mod tips for the KU63 controller: http://www.avdweb.nl/solar-bike/electronics/ku63-motor-controller.html. The 36V power rail caps are rated at...

    Dual "fast wind" mini-motor build

Thanks for the report, motomech. I have been intrigued by the idea of running dual "Cuties" for quite some time now. I am glad to see that you are doing it and are pleased with the results. I am not sure if this is technically correct, but my view is that each motor pulls half of the air...

Purchasing an e-bike -- without waiting for ages

The Kinetic Sprint by eZee has an excellent drive system updated to 500W for the 2012 models. See the Grin Cyclery Store for comments on the quality of eZee kit components.

EBay seller claims to have hub motor w/Nuvinci type gearing

The following domain names are registered by Alan Patee of Busettii Eco Bicycle Technology Company: biyadii.com busettii.com busettiiebike.com chinabusinessresearch.com hipowerbikes.com velocityebikes.com Busettii has gotten far too many bad reviews for me to have any confidence in their...

EBay seller claims to have hub motor w/Nuvinci type gearing

Here is a Brighton MI dealer of Velocity ebikes with the supposed new 8FUN CVP motor: http://hipowerbikes.com/ The $2,090 Raptor model appears to be based on a Huffy DS mountain bike that Walmart sells for $129.

EBay seller claims to have hub motor w/Nuvinci type gearing

The motor and controller are most likely from a Busettii e-bike conversion kit: http://www.busettii.com/e-bike-conversion-kit--52-volt-27-amp-600-watt-motor-and-con5227600.html. But why is apar9518 selling them separately? This is how Busettii describes the motor in their kit: "Busettii 52 volt...

    Direct drive or geared?

Since it doesn't seem you will be stressing the frame much I wouldn't get too hungup on cromoly vs. aluminum other than steel front fork for front hub motor as has already been discussed. For pulling a trailer I agree with others that rear hub would be best. A bike with 20" wheels and rear-hub...

Ultra Motor Europa rear tire problem

Follow Up After studying a draft copy of the ISO 5775-2 spec dealing with bicycle rim sizes, I know for sure that the Kenda Kontact tires are NOT compatible with the rims on my Europa. The tires are specifically marked for HB-575 rims which are hooked bead rims for non wire-reinforced bead...

Ultra Motor Europa rear tire problem

Thanks DS, I'll go with your answer - new tires it will be. One LBS in town quit carrying Schwalbe tires because they were so difficult to wrestle on and off, but in some ways that is reassuring.

Ultra Motor Europa rear tire problem

Dogman, I don't know - two different tube brands and the tire was pretty tough to get off, I was concerned that my plastic tire levers would break. It's possible that there's a misfit which is bad because there is not much rim wall for the tire to grab on to.

Ultra Motor Europa rear tire problem

Introduction Greetings. Three weeks ago I purchased a very lightly used Ultra Motor Europa bike with a "24V / 235W" marked Heinzmann motor for $350. It came with an 11lb. 36V / 10 cell Li-ion battery but with no charger. While in storage the battery had dropped down to 22.3V with the lowest...

Felt MP Cruiser - my new ride

O.T. Nope, just a relatively unknown Bellinghamster with a new-found interest in e-bikes. Better yet, the Spark Museum is the place to go for anyone who loves anything old and electric! For instance - http://www.sparkmuseum.com/MOTORS.HTM - we owe it to those guys ...

Felt MP Cruiser - my new ride

Totally love the look of Felt Cruisers - dey da bomb :D . I was just drooling over one for sale on craigslist. If you decide to go front hub motor you could possibly put a Shimano IGH with roller brake on rear (like eZee does on some of their models) - just a thought. Looking forward to your...
