    Bomb proof my axle

My girlfriend sent my front hub motor back to the on-line shop that I bought it from. This is the same shop that replaced for my rear hub motor due to broken axle less than 2 weeks ago. They want 9$ USD to replace the front with a new hub. Maybe its because I hack sawed off the axle on wire side...

    Fork brace seems unnecessary

Thanks Spinning...I have decided to go with the removable brace, sort of. I am going to to cut and drill the brace and fabricate a bolt on connector. I just wish these forks were not made of magnesium.

    Bomb proof my axle

I hack sawed my front hub off of the adapter. I discovered that the axle did not break. Rather the threads stripped. I was using the treads to transmit the torque to the TA's (green item). This is my improved design. I added set screws to transmit the torque to the TA's. And this time I won't...

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

MAN! I already broke both my axles. I don't think screwing pegs on the end of my new axles is a good idea.

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

I just spent more for my current E-Bike than her parents earn in 1 year (before I started helping them out that is). If i got another bike just because it is better suited for passengers I would not need it because she would break-up with me :( . Not really, but she would be convinced I was...

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

Yes, Im an expat from good ol' USA. I have been here almost 8 years. I go to Hong Kong at least once per month, It only takes about an hour to get there. Went to Macao once to check out the casinos  . I can speak fluent standard Chinese just from having been here so long, but I can...

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

Im pretty sure Ragu is made from reduced down pomodori pelati, but I get your point. I am just happy that I can get pizza sauce at all. I get it from Alibaba's taobao. Actually that is where I get almost all my food. I have asked my GF if she would make pizza and pasta sauce from whole tomatoes...

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

Zombiess & Ypedal.. I was looking forward to building my girlfriend an E-bike. But after I got mine on the road here we realized that it would not be a good idea. We are in a super densely populated area and cars drive crazy here. When I ride on the streets I am in 100% defense mode all the...

    Should Girlfriends be un-sprung weight?

My girlfriend wants me to take her to the park that I like to Ebike at. While I ride the trails she will sit on a bench and read or whatever it is she does. She is short (4'10" 85lb). If I make a rack that clears my rear wheels suspension travel it will be way too tall. I am thinking...

    Whats normal performance wise?

I had a similar problem with a similar motor and different controller. Here is what I did to solve it. THE PROBLEM: I have a Bafang CST 500W 48V motor on the rear, and a Bafang 500W 48V on the front. When I first got them working together the rear motor was much slower than the front. And I had...

My first eBike build: DH 2WD in China

I would like to have motors with thicker axles (10mm across the flats is too small for a hollow axle). However these are new and covered by warranty so I will stick with them. I just need to build TA's that also support the axle. REQUIREMENT: This DH must be able to take a beating. Trails...

    Bomb proof my axle

Actually I did not crash. My front adapters held the wheel in place. The problem now is I cannot get the adapter off. The busted axle is sort of caught in a groove in the adapter. I am going to have to hack saw the adapter to get the motor off of the fork. My motor is stuck into the adapter...

    Fork brace seems unnecessary

Has anyone ever cut their fork brace? It seems unnecessary. I might cut mine so I can get my front hub in without cutting my axles.

    Bomb proof my axle

D U D E .... You are not going believe this sh1t. You totally called it. I busted my front axle today at the god forsaken hollow side  . No problem, I will get the motor fixed and go with 2 TA's next time. And next time I am not going to cut the axles, I'm going to cut my fork brace...

    Bomb proof my axle

I ended up going with 2 set screws for the left side TA. The set-screws are 3/8" bolts, 2 of them sandwiching the flats. One of them is long and hits against the disk caliper adapter. It is NOT 1 long screw:

    What did you cook today??

Today I made spaghetti from stuff that I ordered on-line but my girlfriend wanted to eat BBQ. BBQ in China is not the same as it is in the states. This is a typical small BBQ stand, chicken feet anyone
