    Charging with a coil (Adaptto)?

In your case, your best bet would be to limit the SOC to 20-80% to allow for maximum cycle life along with fast charging capability.

    Queen Battery QB26800 6800mAh 20A - the big guy!

It's also because this is such a massive cell which can handle the heat. A smaller cell with the same capacity and power output would not fare so well.

A sure way to check for fake cells

How many legs does the positive terminal have? If it's not 3, then you've got for sure a fake cell.

    Replacing with Rechargeables

Ah that's what is problematic with alkaline cells. Leaking is always problematic, and has happened to so many people before. So, for emergency use, I would actually go with the latest Eneloops. Their self discharge rates has actually toppled that of alkalines recently, so that is excellent.

Samsung 35E vs 30Q Cycle Life

@Pizzabroodje I would just go for the Samsung 30Q IMO. It has lower quite a bit lower internal resistance than the 35E, so at higher loads like 3A, the difference in capacity down to 2,8V is small between both. Less heat will be generated by the 30Q, the system will be a bit more efficient...

    Replacing with Rechargeables

Dauntless, the light I would actually recommend for starters would be the Wowtac A2S: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075ZN5LJY/ It includes a USB rechargeable 18650, can be used both as a headlamp and a handheld light, can output all the way from 0,5 lumens for night use, right up to 1000 REAL...

    Any experience with LiSO2 Batteries?

IMO, these are non rechargeable lithium primary cells. Very high energy density, and extreme resistance to extreme temperatures, but not rechargeable.

    N.E.S.E. the no solder module

@agnesium, I have an interesting question about your modules. Since they don't see to use any kind of spring component, doesn't that mean that if there's a big bump in the road, or that the battery pack drops, the kinetic energy of the drop will have to go somewhere, and will perhaps collapse...

New way to recycle lithium-ion batteries

Really interesting. We are reducing our dependency on cobalt with the round of latest cells using the NMC, and NCA chemistry of cells.

What tabs to use for 480A discharge?

He's probably trying to spot weld through pure copper :) Nevertheless, I would go with this for the parallel connections...
