KONA Entourage Build Thread - middrive (pic heavy)

I think a bigger motor only would give less battery compartment. I dont see any chain problems as the motor to crank is one chain, and crank to back wheel is another. Standard mid-drive setup.

KONA Entourage Build Thread - middrive (pic heavy)

If you're gonna cut the bike to pieces anyway, why not try something like this? I think extending seat and chainstay will give you much work and a bad bike.

You're my hero Mike:-) My bike is standing useless, waiting for your missing parts.. Once you have the parts ready, i will place an order. Slip on motor pulley + Big pulley with eno freewheel + matching GT2 belt + secondary 219 pulley and chainring + crankarms with freewheel and BB (hopefully)...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I'm really looking forward to you having this beltdrive ready. If i could source the primary belt drive with matching 219 secondary reduction (eno freewheel on primary side, 11t on secondary side?), isis BB with freewheel crankarms, all in a complete package, that would be REALLY nice:-) Name...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Thanx for that tip. Just ordered two.. My belt skips, unshunted, with LR adjustable sheets. Will try to make a better belt tensioner near the motor pulley, when i get the new belts. Read something about LightningRods coming with a drive shaft tensioner, that would be nice.. My ride...

    El Supreme GNG

Adjusted LightningRods sheets for chain stretch, and added a chain tensioner to compensate for bent bb. Preparing for 1500w and added a belt tensioner on primary drive. All i had to do, was to drill a hole in the ball-bearing holder and use the spacers from the original tensioner. The extra...

    El Supreme GNG

Nice.. and I can see you are using a chain tensioner even though u have the adjustable sheets.. I haven't put more than 15 ah trough this bike, and the bb axle is already slightly bent. Any recommendations on a new isis bottom bracket, crank arms and freewheel? The secondary reduction chain...

    El Supreme GNG

I agree. I was thinking of maby a 50x50 mm aluminum u profile to hold the batteries would work. Or maybe a 50mm deep box inside the frame, and a 50 mm wide plate under the downtube. All held in place with http://sugru.com/ and velcro band, or hose clamps.

    Controller for a GNG 450w gen1?

Hi I'm looking for the same thing. Do you have a link to that controller, and would it handle 70 volts? What lyen controller would be best if programmable, small size, 70 volt and approx 30 amps are the requirements?

    El Supreme GNG

Thanx for the kind words. Everybody who sees it thinks it looks like a bomb  If my crankset is slipping? Are you thinking of the crank freewheel? If so, no. But the crank is to cheap and it's uncomfortable close to the bolts on the adjustable sheets... I had to file down the head on...

    GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I'm looking for a full suspension bike to use with this GNG kit. I want approx 160mm of travel to make a fun and versatile ebike, but every bike i find has a 83mm bottom bracket. Have anybody tried to fit a GNG kit on a 83mm BB? I'm thinking maby i could make new sheets between motor and bb, but...

full sus bikes best suited for ebike

Rocky Mountain has several bikes named Element, which have the shock under the top tube. That gives plenty off room for electronics in the main triangle. Not enough travel for my taste though..

    Enclosed gearbox at the cranks

My downhill bike weights 18kg, and 20kg is not unusual for this kind of bike. I Guess 25 kilo would be doable, with a 10 kg drivetrain.
