    Left side drive: what's current?

Boxxbike is 1.6kWh, not huge for a 12kW bike but good enough for 30-50km apparently

Yeah, there are a lot of things not in the store anymore, which is a pain. Maybe try emailing them. They may be busy but they should get back to within a few days.

Did you change it out on the trail? or just click into low and pedal it home CD?

Well yeah, was thinking about all those 18" and 19" stealth moto/hub motor wheel builds you were a pioneer of. Guess this wheel is just a bit different :D

Thanks Rix, quite a compliment from the master of re-lacing wheels :D

Time for a fresh rim on the back of my LMX. The stock Halo rim had a couple big dings from hitting square edges and rocks, and a broken spoke and some loose spokes so thought I'd lace up a the new rim I'd bought a couple months ago from one of my favourite online stores Bike24. I went with a...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I did manage to get a freewheel off so I could swap from a 16t to a 20t. It didn't budge for a while, but eventually the cordless electric impact driver broke it free. Any chance that would work on your Tangent?

Whole heartedly agree with you CD, I use to ride dirt bikes and by the time I got the bike out to the mountains, did a few hours of riding, came back and washed and maintained the bike the whole day was shot. In contrast I can pop out for a quick blast on the LMX, park it and forget it 'til the...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Dave did progressively update the gearbox over time, including larger/stronger bearings and more refinements to the cycloidal profile. I had a bearing explode on my first gearbox too, which I replaced ,sorry don't recall the size, but by the time I did that Dave had sent me a v2 (or a was it a...

I had something similar where throttle and PAS would cut out several times during a ride with my early model Silixcon controllered bike. I would have to power off and on again each time to reset. Adam sent a writing diagram with some additional resistors and writing changes. It helped reduce...

Yeah it's definitely not the place for a small hub motor, maybe a cromotor, but even then it would get very toasty hot. I reckon you'd be right with the stock size LMX battery CD, the bigger rear pulley would be much easier on the little 30mm motor though.

Quick ride report. Took the LMX64 out and my BBSHD converted Yeti to the top of one of the bigger hills we have here locally. Both bikes took the 800m of vertical climb, with some 30%+ sections, with ease. We stopped a couple times after each big climb to let the motors cool. Overall highly...

Using that bomber battery must be fun, other than all that weight on your back. What to speed are you seeing with it?

    E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

One thing to keep an eye on, the head of that nutsert/rivnut sits higher than the rest of the surface of the motor. That means that the motor and therefore the drive pulley will be slightly misaligned with the rear pulley as the motor will no longer be able to be tightened down flush with the...

Hey CD, you need a bottoming type of tap. For a stripped out thread into a blind hole, a recoil with a bottoming style tap is the way to go and is not too pricey...

Sounds like you ride your bike alot like mine. It's a great alternative to a dirt bike. I have a 1.5kwh 14s9p in mine. Since you have the Nucular controller, build or buy a bigger pack and crank up the amps in the settings menu and have fun.

You'll love the bigger pack once you get time to build it CD. The reduced load on the cells is worth it alone, the 3500 cells struggle to keep up with only 5p. My 9p pack is much much happier, holding higher average voltage and never gets very hot.

You could contact these guys to see if the slit belts to size https://bepltd.com/products/1728-8mhl-30-optibelt-omega-hl-high-performance-htd-timing-belt-1728mm-long-8m-30mm-wide should be able to get two 12.5-13mm belts from one 30mm or six from an 85mm belt...

My guess is ease of manufacture. The large pulley appears to be made with a CNC router, the tooth profile being round because of the router bit. A polychain profile would require a broaching process wouldn't it?

Nice to hear your LMX is back up and running and getting some miles under it's belt (pun intended ) Did you compare the new belt with the old? are they the exact same length?
