Most efficient way to convert DC to 110VAC - 3-5W

Hi This is slightly off topic, but I am sure there are some experts in this field here at the Endless Sphere :) I am working on a product that needs 110VAC and have a power requirement of in the 3W to 5W range. I plan to use a ebike battery to power this application for at least a week. I...

    Keeping cellog 8 plugged in?

So if I only use the first 6 cells I will be fine? I have 12s1p and two cellogs. A switch would be nice, but that is more parts to keep dry in the rain etc..

    Keeping cellog 8 plugged in?

I have kept mine plugged in, but in sleep mode, for a couple of weeks. Today I noticed the voltages had dropped quite a bit and the batteries were not well balanced. Does anyone else keep it plugged in? What is the consumption in sleep mode? Does it draw power from all of the cells?

    Lab supply as lipo charger?

Is this a good idea? Llike this one for charging 12s lipo at 10A to 50V? http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Variable-Adjustable-50V-20A-DC-Power-Supply-Digital-Regulated-Lab-Grad-1000W-/320894899310?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab6d3946e

Which battery charger is worth buying?

HK always set value very low so no fees :) I already have a bulk charging sollution so I will wait and see what new products comes available.

Which battery charger is worth buying?

It is possible because of high spipping price and custom fees. I actually found this charger on a Norwegian site, but the price is 1151 Norwegian kroner = 190.348927 U.S. dollars :D Then the 65 dollar ebay option seems a bit more interesting. I am anyway not so much concerned with effieciency...

Which battery charger is worth buying?

Thanks for that info, but with shipping I think this charger will be at least 3 times as expensive as the one I linked to. Do you now the approximate weight of the MeanWell?

    Lithium sucks in cold weather!!

So if a cell was charged to 4.2 volts in the cold and then brought to room temperature - the voltage will increase to dangerous levels? What if the cell was cold, but fairly good isolated. Is it possible that charging would cause temperature to rise and voltage to stabilize at 4.2 volts? That...

    Just another charging idea

Thanks. That was interesting. I will read more about them later. I think noise is a problem with all of those solutions, though.

    Just another charging idea

This morning charging was finished. The cell voltages were all 4.20 or 4.19 The Hobbyking "Battery Monitor 2-6S" was completely off however. Those things are not to be trusted.

    Just another charging idea

I am hoping to make a setup that also allows bulk charging for when I am in a hurry. Are there any 12-14s lipo chargers? I didn't know that. Can you please explain what the different components in your setup are?

    Just another charging idea

I bought these several years ago. You can buy them now for about 5 USD on ebay. You will also need the separate power supplies witch will also be 5+ USD a piece. I think these are a better option: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/b3ac-2s-3s-lipo-balance-charger-black-ac-100-240v-103589

Simple 2-3 cell chargers - now with AC-input

8 hours is not totaly useless. Many of us both work and sleep around 8 hours. Also the batteries seldom is empty when put to charge. Of course it would be much better with a faster charger of simmilar simplicity. I bet there will be a big market for those. How much current would be safe to...

Simple 2-3 cell chargers - now with AC-input

I really like the chargers that charge through the charge leads and have no buttons at all. They fit well into my plan to make a "work and girlfriend safe", "plug and forget" batterypack. Maybe naive, but I only have 10mW so that should not be a suprise to anybody  Recently they have...
