    Aprilia Enjoy

Hi Tony, like this ... Where the "Y" bit is, trim 12mm or so from each wire, wrap it with 24g copper wire and then solder and insulate with heat-shrink

    GT's Curious Custom build

 Thanks mate, I can hardly wait myself (cause that means the bike will be closer to being finished), but all in good time - can't rush the painting process else I won't get the finish I'm looking for

    GT's Curious Custom build

Hi AW, I like my "stuff" nice, but I don't have to worry that it will be knocked off either  Thanks mate, but there won't be too much polished ali or chrome. I'm thinking of painting the handlebars and head stem satin black too (not committed though :) ) Oh, and black and red always goes...

    GT's Curious Custom build

Able to spray it today, one coat only. The really bright, shiny red look "pink" in these pics :?: Guess you have to see it in the flesh 8) (Never mind the Whyalla lawn in the background)

    GT's Curious Custom build

Fcuk, turned the frame upside down to spray all the areas that can't be done with the frame upright, and gave it a nice, even coat of satin black. Went to pick up the "hangers" so that I could spin it over without damaging what I had just sprayed, and a "whirly whirly" came through, picked up...

Outdoor chair to full suspension bike

Unequal length wishbone is how the original RD350 was setup for exactly that reason. It is said that he could hit the front brakes midway through a corner without adverse effects, something you wouldn't do with telescopic forks.

Outdoor chair to full suspension bike

I remember reading about the Hossack front suspension about 35 years ago but I never thought I would see one on a bicycle  Gotta follow this one!

    Evolution of Skill....

Hi Len, really nice workmanship mate, looks professionally built 8) I thought it looked a "bit" strange with the small wheels until I watched the video, but like full-throttle, it's growing on me. GT

    GT's Curious Custom build

Hi guys, bit more work (OK, a lot: about 20 hours of wet-rubbing here including forks): After priming, there was spot putty, wet-rub, spray putty, wet-rub, spray-putty & finally web-rub again. One coat of satin black (for those interested, it's a Galmet single pack epoxy, thinned by 15% with...

Use uC to make bike road legal (Holland)

Yes, but: 1. That uses a push button for initial acceleration (I thought you were using a twist / thumb throttle) 2. It is untested at the moment 3. It needs some refinement, especially on resumption from a stop / braking event Do you want to continue your own code, or would you be more likely...

Use uC to make bike road legal (Holland)

Hi Erik, congratulations. To control a throttle signal by pedelec is quite trivial for a µC such as an Arduino. I'll post some code for you if that's all you require, but ... is that all you want? If you require more functionality, please post your system details: motor, battery etc and whether...

First Build Thread: Cannondale Prophet Commuter

My opinion on a first build commuter, where it just has to work day in, day out, is to use a hubbie. Ultra reliable! And have a RC motored bike for fun, where it doesn't matter if you break something. My 2¢ FWIW

Thanks for the heads up. I write (or used to) web applications for a living and my expectations of how web shopping should be and how it actually is is way different. I can never find shit

rodgah, looking really good mate ... I know you got the triple trees from ChopperUS, but when I look for them I can't seem to find them. Would you mind putting up links for them, also your rims, tyres etc (things are hard to get in regional oz) Thanks mate, GT

    The limits to friction drive

Yeah thought it was something like that Thanks, but I can't seem to get the big motors anywhere, so ended up buying an Aeolian C6374 Kv170 ... just for testing, mind you  Ran it up today on 6S - gee these motors are noisy, but it seems to me the noise is mainly bearings.
