    LifePo4 charger question

Should I plug in the 48V SLA charger when the BMS is connect, or not connected? Or does it matter??

    LifePo4 charger question

Well, if I plug in the charger when it is not connected to the LiFePo4 pack, the red light and green light come on. Also, the fan comes on the low speed. When I plug it into the batt pack, the red and green stay on, and fan fan ramps up to the high speed. What do you think this means? Also, I...

    LifePo4 charger question

Thank you so much for all your help. Ok, here's the latest reply from zhimingok: "hello my friend, my engineer (give) directions: 1 when charging, two red lights on. 2 when charged, one red and one green light. it is to say, one red light on always, when charging, another one is red, after...

    LifePo4 charger question

Ok, I just got this reply from zhimingok12345: "hello my friend, if in this case, you can pluck out BMS to charge about half-hour, not more than one hour, after that, plug into BMS to continue charge. it will be normal. if this is still not help you. please email me again, i will let my...

    LifePo4 charger question

As I said, I checked the charger with a voltmeter and it is putting out 56.6 volts. The pack seems to be charging up appropriately. Though I'm not sure about balanced charging and all that LiFePo4 stuff. Are you saying that this could be a BMS problem instead of a charger problem?

    LifePo4 charger question

I bought the 48V 10ah LiFePo4 pack from zhimingok12345@126.com on ebay. I don't know if he is masquerading as mr lau or not. He had good ebay reviews and comments. I did check the charger with my voltmeter and it is spitting out 56.6 volts. I suppose that is good that we at least know it is...

    LifePo4 charger question

"I'm still confused, are both green and red on, or it is just the red and it doesn't seem to stop." As soon as I plug in the charger the red and the green come on. The fan also comes on. I let it charge all night (12 hours) and when I saw it this morning it is the same: red and green lights on...

    Awesome. Thanks.

    Cycle Analyst connection

I have been using a Cycle Analyst with my old 72V controller. I just switched to a 48V crystalyte controller that I got from electricrider. The problem is that this 48V controller does not have a 6 pin connector and therefore I can no longer use my Cycle Analyst. I'm so upset about this. Does...

    LifePo4 charger question

Thanks for the replies. Ok, I will keep it charging overnight and then see if the red light and the fan shut off. If not, I suppose I could try the 48V SLA charger that I have. Is there anything specific that I should watch out for with using and SLA charger for Li?

    LifePo4 charger question

I finally joined the 21st century and got a 48V 10ah LifePo4 pack. I am using it with a road runner front hub motor and a 48V 25amp controller. It is really nice. I used to ride around with 72V SLA and a rear X5 beast. It was too much. Now I feel much more nimble and I don't think I have...

Rear hub motor disc brake dilemma

It seems that using the motor for electronic braking would use alot of Current and possibly harm the electromagetic settup in the motor?

Rear hub motor disc brake dilemma

So I finally got a full suspension MTB off craigslist (like this: http://www.velosklad.ru/i/models/sredn/132.jpg). The only problem is that it has dual disc brakes. I have a rear wheel X5 Phoenix hub motor. Because of this, I can't use the rear disk brake. And apparently I can't install V-brakes...

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

Yow. I don't think I'll get into soldering semiconductors in and out... Maybe I'll just go back to 72V SLA. Thanks.

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

I decided to go to http://www.electricrider.com/ and order the 26 inch rim and 12 gauge spokes made specifically for the X5 phoenix motor. I found a local bike shop willing to build the wheel. I think it will work this time...

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

I figured there would be many different theories on spoke breakage. I am not a wheel-builder, so I am dependent on local bike shop dudes. Most of them hate electric bikers, so I must say it is really difficult to get anyone of expertise to build the wheel. I feel like the last build was done...

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

I have already set the CycleAnalyst low voltage cutoff down to 35V. Is there some other way to re-program the controller?

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

Hmm. Mine works with 72V batts, but not 48V. I turned the CA low Voltage cutoff down to 35V and everything. And still it does not work with 48V.

    48V batts with a 72V controller?

I've decided to go down from 72V SLA to 48V because the weight keeps breaking spokes. I also have an X5 motor. I am wondering if anyone thinks that my 72V 40amp crystalyte controller would be able to work with 48V SLA? I don't want to have to buy a 48V controller if I can somehow get the 72V one...

Is there anyone who will build Dewalt Packs for ebikers?

I am interested in upgrading my 72V ebike from sla's to Dewalt A123 batteries. I wonder if anyone knows if there is anybody out there who will do the work building batt packs out of dewalt 36V batts?

My motor cuts out after 4 miles?

I have 6 of these UB12120 batteries: http://www.apexbattery.com/electric-scooter-ub12120-battery-miscellaneous-electric-scooter-batteries.html It is pretty hill where I live. I still have two blown 72V 20amp controllers. There is a guy who can swap in new mosfets. Maybe I'll have him punch up...

My motor cuts out after 4 miles?

I'll have to check the name of the SLA when I get home. I'll let you know in a few hours.

My motor cuts out after 4 miles?

If my 72V 12ah SLA batts are not enough for the 40amp controller, then what exact batteries is this damn controller made to work with? Maybe I should just go back to the old 20amp controller that actually worked.
