    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Nope, no lathe, unfortunately, and I am pretty chalanged when it comes to the mechanical end of things. I wish I had a tenth of AJ's mad skills.  The 94T is if I stay with the current direct drive from the 3220 to the Nuvinci. I could just drill holes in the 27T Staton splined...

12s2p LiPo pack kit including 12-channel BMS "Lite" Board

The end plates attach to the ends of the pack, once it is assembled, and then the whole packs gets shrink-wrapped. The plates aren't pre-attached to the main board at all. :) -- Gary

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

It turns out the spline shaft on the Nuvinci is smaller than the Shimano-type cassette splines, so I guess I'm back to looking at the Staton 27T option, or figuring out something different with using a standard freewheel. Hmm... :?

Nanotech LiPo booster pack for my GEM e4...

If and when I ever decide to go all Lithium, I'll probably go with a pack based on the 20Ah a123 pouch cells. At that time, I'll look at maybe re-programming the DeltaQ charger. For now, though, the existing profile works just fine. The basic CV point is 82.8V, which works out to 4.14V per cell...

12s2p LiPo pack kit including 12-channel BMS "Lite" Board

I put in the PCB order yesterday, for the 12s2p-10Ah version yesterday. I'll get them back on Monday, and then I'll build up the first one, to test. In the meantime, I just received the first of the 16-24 channel CellLog-based BMS lite boards. I'll be building up one of these tomorrow. I'll...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Yes, you are right, of course. Pedaling will move the motor chain, if there isn't a separate FW for the motor side. Hmm... This is going to take some more noodling. :?

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

I have one other idea, and that is to use something like this, in place of the Staton 22T splined sprocket. I can sandwich this between the 94T #35 sprocket and one of my FW adapters, which would then hold the freewheel for the pedal chain. This would definitely fit, but I'd be relying on the...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

No, I'm not. Until I get in and try a few things, I'm just not sure. The problem is that there isn't enough width to fit two normal freewheels, side-by-side. If I had one of your new splined ENOs, I could get it closer to the hub body. The 94T #35 sprocket could bolt to the inside part of the...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Yep, you guys are right, of course. Removing the circlip lets the FW slide off. From the end of the hub to the end of the splined portion is 3/4" long. Actually, the spline section is the last 1/2" of that 3/4". Anyway, I can see how the Staton 27T sprocket works. It looks like they welded the...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Hmm... On the "Developer Kit" units we all received, there isn't a spline. Instead is a standard threaded freewheel adapter. -- Gary

I'm having a hard time visualizing this. Do you have any pics?

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Yep, mine looked just like that, and was double-boxed. Now all I need to do is figure out how to make two freewheels fit. :) -- Gary

12s2p LiPo pack kit including 12-channel BMS "Lite" Board

I don't know all the costs just yet, so for those PM'ing me for that info, I'm sorry, but I hope to figure that out soon. I'll post the info here. We've been doing two parallel efforts, this 12s2p "Lite" variant, and the version that is CellLog-based. The boards for the CellLog version were...

    Cell log alarm schematics thread

The linked ones are fine, as they are unmodified. The one in this post, though, is missing the negative connections to the CellLog alarm outputs. It also just has the opto outputs shorting out the input side of the solid state relay. That's not how these work. The picture in this post is also...

    Cell log alarm schematics thread

Hey, I don't mind you using my drawings/schematics here, but if you are going to modify them, I'd appreciate if you would remove our copyright notice, as it is misleading to the casual observer that we did these mods, which, by-the-way, won't work as you have them currently shown. -- Gary

    Custom rear hub

Yeah, that's the one, but the holes are a bit too big, as I recall. It works fine with the flange on the freewheel adapter you did for me, with 1/4-20 bolts. Can you use that same pattern?
  18. GGoodrum

    Custom rear hub

Yes, that would work. The #35 size sprockets I got from these guys would fit this variant. The one I'm using on my 3220-based direct drive setup is the 94T at the bottom of the page. This pattern also fits the standard 16T cog that is on the 3-speed hub, and the freewheel adapters I had made...

12s2p LiPo pack kit including 12-channel BMS "Lite" Board

Yes, that's right. The ones I'm using are good for 24s/100V. A 4115, for instance, I believe is good to about 150V. -- Gary

    Direct-drive 3220 setup with a 3-Speed Hub...

I'm home now (I was away for the weekend...), and have opened mine up. It doesn't look impossible, but it will be a challenge, for sure. :) -- Gary

    Direct-drive 3220 setup with a 3-Speed Hub...

It's a 3220-7T. The kV, in a wye configuration, is 97. This setup had stump-pulling torque, in low gear, but the 3-speed S-A hub is already making noises and this has only be used maybe a dozen times, a couple by me, and the rest by my 23-year old son. -- Gary

    Custom rear hub

I'm trying to understand what it is that you are doing. If I have this right, you are getting Doug White to do a flanged freewheel that fits over the splined hub you are doing, and then either a three cog, or five cog, piece that bolts to the flange? Any chance the flange might also fit the...

    Direct-drive 3220 setup with a 3-Speed Hub...

    Direct-drive 3220 setup with a 3-Speed Hub...

Hmm... I might need a "Plan B". Per this drawing, there might not be enough room to fit two freewheels. Maybe I can move things to the left a bit, and dish the wheel, or maybe I can widen the dropouts a bit more. If I can't figure out how to get two FWs in there, I might see about maybe...

12s2p LiPo pack kit including 12-channel BMS "Lite" Board

Yes, you could do two 10s2p setups by not populating two of the channels and by using 6-pin JST-XH connectors instead of the normal 7-pin variants. Yes, these should be fine. Ideally, you'll want to set the voltage between 49.5-50.0V. The procedure will be to adjust the voltage so that the red...
