    Arduino/ATMega based controller?

Ditto - I want a generic controller that I can use for most/all purposes - but most of the boards don't have quite enough IO pins exposed. I moved away from the nrf 52840 dongle for that reason, the arduino ble 33 has many more pins exposed. But still not all... and some are on inconvenient pads...

    Arduino/ATMega based controller?

Cheers, tbh don't worry too much - am about to send it off to jlcpcb to get some boards made. I've rejigged it enough times now - and although I'm sure that the second I click submit I'll notice a glaring error I'll never find out until I get some made and put some voltage into them :) Out of...

    Arduino/ATMega based controller?

I've conveniently ignored the complicated motor part and am planning to make something that piggy-backs on a VESC: https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/arduino-nano-ebike-controller-board-tsdz2-vesc.123935/#post-1807436 If you've got experience making PCBs would appreciate any feedback...

arduino nano ebike controller board (TSDZ2+VESC)

After having a go routing the above board, I decided to simplify. This board provides equivalent functionality to a native TSDZ2 controller but without the 6v headlight output - when coupled with an appropriate VESC controller. I'm planning to use the Makerbase MKSESC 75100 with this board to...

arduino nano ebike controller board (TSDZ2+VESC)

Whilst this is slightly TSDZ2 specific as-is - it would be easy to remove (or not use) the TSDZ2 specific torque sensor circuit and use this for almost any ebike.... This project builds on previous work in the 'TSDZ2 wireless project' - adds the torque sensor circuitry I've been working on -...

    13S5P CONNECTION DIAGRAM

Are you welding this battery? I only ask as building batteries is not without risk and so if you're not familiar I really recommend watching some videos on reading up on battery construction. Especially if kids are going to be sitting on top of it! Or tbh consider buying one pre built, although...

    How do these boosters work?

The higher the voltage difference generally the poorer the efficiency. You also need to watch out that your battery can cope, as say 72v@20A would need 30A@48V (at perfect efficiency) and as the soc drops the current the battery needs to provide increases. I've tried cheap 1500W dcdc converters...

    New ebike build

Generally (too) cheap battery = bad battery! There's no way that battery is 100Ah, perhaps 10Ah but the biggest problem is you have no idea what the cells are and if they are of good quality/matched or even capable of the current draw... 100Ah is probably the totally of all cells 40x2500mAh but...

    TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Calibration

https://github.com/elem01/V-0.19/blob/master/How-to-calibrate-the-torque-sensor.mediawiki#user-content-How_to_calibrate_your_torque_sensor Tells you how to physically calibrate it but that's not usually necessary and involves disassembly. This describes the software calibration process for...

Bought a bike, thought it would be an easy fix. 🤦‍♂️

The wiring diagram appears to show pins 3/2 yellow and green providing +ve and -ve to the LCD, pins 5/1 providing the same to the controller. And I'm guessing pin 4 the blue is a switched +ve to power the controller on/off assuming the battery was where the bike on/off switch was. But i'd...

2 Chainrings on TSDZ2B - is an adapter necessary?

I can't find them anywhere that ships to the UK any more, but they are on AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006370823841.html I've also got one of these of another bike, seems just as good. Again I'm struggling to find anywhere I can get new ones shipped to the UK...

    Charging stops at 39 volts

Did you charge the new parallel group to the same voltage as the rest? Check the voltage of each parallel group, if they aren't identical some will reach full before the others and the BMS will stop charging.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

It might still work, test the DC resistance, should be single digit ohms. If it's open circuit it's definitely toast. The coil slips against another so if the surface is rough that might also cause failure in future. Only way really to check is to put it back together and try it out.. Edit: oh...

    Best cheaper Spot Welders

I've only built one 14s4p pack so far with a plan/sunko 709a but followed advice on here to upgrade the probe cables and it worked great. https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/improving-sunko-709a-220v-current-capabilities.103694/

TSDZ2 Power Assist does not work but throttle does

check all your connections again, check the speed sensor magnet. Ensure you reconnected the torque sensor properly to the board - thin black/red wires that come from the guts of the motor (bb spindle) and connect to the controller with a white two pin male/female connector on short red/black...

Did I fry my controller or battery when trying to replace broken reduction gear on tongsheng tsdz2b?

Check you've reconnected everything especially the speed sensor, and make sure the magnet is aligned that's the most common reason for no assist from the motor. As for why the plastic gear teeth broke... Do you use the throttle a lot and do you use it to get moving from stopped? If so, that's...

    TSDZ2 on 72v

I've used a buck converter to maintain 60v from a 52v battery and that worked ok, you could try a similar thing with a step down, this looks ok and might work but it's quite big! 1500W 50A Adjustable Step Down Module Stabilized Power Supply 25-90V to 2.5-60V | eBay

    TSDZ2 on 72v

Caps on the controller are 63v so that's your max without either modding the controller or using a different one. Not heard of anyone changing the caps... Regardless your biggest problem will be heat, without temp sensor and mods you're asking for trouble putting more power through it (or tbh...

    Tongsheng TZDZ2 stops working

Hope you find the problem, tbh the symptoms you describe (without the noise) would often just be battery related so make sure the noise is definitely coming from the tsdz2 before you open it up. I was convinced my motor was making a loud shrieking squeak before but it was actually a rogue...

    Tongsheng TZDZ2 stops working

If it's making a nasty noise then really the only way to see what's going on is to open it up... parts for the tsdz2 are readily available and depending on shipping, pretty cheap. in the UK I can get a complete new tsdz2 for about £210 inc shipping - or you can buy the motor/gear assemblies...

Generic open source open hardware DIY controller?

Yes I got it working and have a test board that has all the required inputs linked up to an nrf52840 but now it's spring I've got less time for coding so things have slowed down a bit. I have the codebase compiling - using the latest casainho code minus the motor control parts - so it has the...
