Mechanical Compression of LiFePO4 Pack: Necessary?

I have a couple of Lifepo4 pouch packs. A pouch has next to no structural integrity to it. Prismatic cells, OTOH, usually have a more rigid (sometimes aluminum?) enclosure. Same goes extra for cylindricals, whose round geometry can withstand substantial internal pressure. My cheap chinese...

48V LifePO4: Run with one dead cell?

I have a 48v 10AHr pouch LifePo4 chinese ducttape battery, which was lasted me about 3000km. Alas, the 10Ahr started cutting out around 5Ahr. Took it apart, made sure all cells were balanced, and found one very puffy and low-capacity cell. Can anyone comment on the wisdom of removing the...

The attached pic shows the power cable from my battery pack to my controller. It looks like a regular IEC power connector (just like on the back of your computer and monitor), but the ground blade is rotated 90°. Does anyone know where to get this part?

    MY1018z: Gorgeous cooling solution

Behold, my 450W unite/currie MY1018Z motor, cooled with a blower (a squirrel-cage blower. NOT a fan). I know there are lots of other MY1018 cooling solutions posted all over the 'sphere, but, effective as they may be, to be honest, they generally look like ass. This one is compact...
