    Phoenix Brute (5305) - Crystalyte 4840 or Mini-E?

The bike has been parked for a while, wiring got chewed up. The motor is a first gen, no frills, no disk brake plate. Now that I have to rewire most of it, should I use the old upgraded 4840 (traces, shunt, MOSFETs, regen button, CA tap) or switch to the Mini-E? Why? (a link will do) :)...

EV Global charger smoked, MOSFET replacement questions

I'm using original EV Global charger to charge the 12s4p LiPo pack that I stuffed into a factory box. Turned it up to 50.2v and 3A (by adjusting VR1 VR2) - was running fine for a while, then I removed the cover (which hosted a fan) and turned the VR2 all they way up - got almost 3.3A out of it...

What is "Silicon Rectifying Charger" and why is it good/bad?

I'm not an electronics engineer, but I studied well in schools, so you don't have to water down the notions, if you don't want to. A "Silicon Rectifying Charger" - does all this glorious combination of attributes mean that this charger uses a silicon-based rectifying bridge? Why is it being...

    Solar charger for Li-Ion

A bit off topic, since the project is for a security camera and not mobile platform. Basic principles still apply though :) I want to make the security camera autonomous. It needs 12v and 170mAh at the day time and 240mAh at night. Let's just say it uses on average 200mAh an hour. So it uses...

    LiFePo4 pack configuration and charging

Looks like I got a decent deal on 48 3.2x4900mAh cells. I would like to build a 36v/20Ah pack out of them. Couple of questions: 1. They are rated at 2C. Does it mean I can expect to get 10A from each cell safely? Would I be better off paralleling them in groups of 4 and then serializing in 12...
