CYC Photon 3D models and settings sheet

Awesome Jonna. That spreadsheet will be helpful. And already in Canadian units. Cool. With regard to auxiliary parts, I designed a speedo mount and an anti-rotation bracket assembly that is strong enough to take the torque reaction force. The speedo mount is custom to mount to the...

Why shouldn't i build a Neumotor RC + planetary gear reduction drive?

I adapted a Neugart gearbox to an Astro motor for a chain puller drive. It worked pretty well. I suspect the Neugart gearbox is somewhat more robust though.

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I concur. Such a display takes the eyes off the job at hand for an extended period while waiting for it to change. It wouldn't surprise me if there is a human factors engineering spec somewhere for human-operated equipment that disallows this for safety reasons...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Is it possible to change the logic to look for the minimum allowable time to the next magnet? This would give a three magnet setup more of an advantage.

Bafang C961 display speedometer problem greater than 27mph

Agreed. It just can't keep up. I even tried a strong rare earth magnet and it made no difference. It is what it is...

Bafang C961 display speedometer problem greater than 27mph

I have the exact same hardware and the same problem on a trike with a 20 in rear wheel but in metric units. In my case, when going over about 55 km/h it displays half the actual speed. Adjusting the magnet or pickup positions has no effect on this behaviour...

    18650 cells that are unsolderable.

The video shows the wrong tool and the wrong method for the job and results in heat being applied at least 4X longer than necessary. Instead, after preparation coil up the total amount of solder required on top of the battery and use a hammerhead tip.

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

I can't justify spending a lot of time on this. The evidence doesn't support it. Is there doubt? Sure. But the cherry picking is out of hand. "Hand waving" is a good description. There is a lot of motivated reasoning. Conflicting evidence is not being addressed or is being ignored. The...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

Unsubstantiated claim stated as fact. It would depend on the nature of the damage incurred and the failure mode(s) for this particular structure. Check facts. Did it really fall that fast? What is the evidence the rate was that close to g? Other material fell faster than the core as shown...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

I don't put much stake in beliefs - mine or anyone else's. Beliefs close doors. Beliefs can block reason. I know that what I believe is useless if it is wrong. In my view, beliefs can be just as disposable as opinions which are also often wrong. Regardless, any beliefs we do have must be...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

Sometimes in this life, nothing is harder to be sure of than the truth. Our best option is to go by the preponderance of quality evidence. Simpler answers are more likely to be correct but certainly not guaranteed so. For this I like the example of a TV that doesn't work. It is entirely...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

Catastrophic failure. How does a structure subject to catastrophic failure react to having mass above it fall and apply very large, sudden loads? It fails catastrophically in buckling modes with very little energy absorption. This is easily predicted and familiar to anyone in the mechanical...
