    Thanks guys. Sorry I never replied. I'm a POS. I'm sure you're right about the air flow thing. I do have a shroud around the back/base of the motor now so the air has to pass along the can to reach the back of the fan there.

    I hope so! :twisted: I think all I will need is a new 2x long base/bearing tube, and a 2x length magnet bell tube/sleeve to fit over 2 stock magnet rings?! I would think that this could all be done on a lathe? My only sticking point is how to get the stator core off of the stock bearing...
