Tadpole & Izip Tricruiser quadricycle conversion

I recently acquired an Izip Tricruiser Motor Sub-assembly, $74,with the thought of converting an older Tadpole Trike to an Electric Quad. I have been on Utah Trikes page and except for the "posi traction" gearing on the quad conversion kit they sell, the mountings are very similiar and shouldn't...

    Complete Jackshaft Kit

thanks for the advice. But I don ot need a gearbox, reducuction or such. I just need a jackshaft kit that holds a freewheel on the LH side and a Fixed Gear on the RH side. With all due respect to Recumpence, I don't have $100's of $ to spend on a simple jackshaft. I figured out last night what...

To Nuvinci Or Not to Nuvinci that is the Question

Hey all, After much research on this site and others, I finally came up with a way to install a freewheel on a 24v 450w geared motor. OK, my questions is, I can install the motor to drive my Nuvinci hub, using the same setuo for a sprocket welded to a freewheel adapter that staton has...

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

Rick, I did not miss the freewheel on the motor. If you look at my responce it says that I have not been able to find a 10mm freewheel. Which is the diameter of the motor I have. I agree that there will not be enough space. For the time being I am going to shelve the Idea. I am thinking about...

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

John, I understand about what you are saying, and since I will not jump into a setup without alot of research, I may end up with the rhs drive. I do not need another disc brake, I have a tadpole trike that has disc brakes on the front. I wish someone that makes motors would have a 20mm...

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

Tyler, the shaft on the motor is 10mm, I have not been able to find one that size. Aussie, that is exactly what i wanted to try. Now that I see it will turn out the way you showed that is defianlty on the top of the list. RKO, I like your Idea, but it looks like from the pics that you...

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

I don't see how you put a freewheel onto matts adapter. I don't want a fixed gear. I need a freewheel that will mount onto the LHS of a nuvinci hub. I don't want to use a jack shaft if I don't have to.

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

OK But where do I get the sprocket adapter. I have been looking and cannot find one other than the one I posted above. I will be running a LHD on a NuVinci Hub. The hub has a disc brake mount that I was hoping to figure out a way to mount to.

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

Would this work. http://www.choppersus.com/store/product/757/Trike-Freewheel-Adapter/. Looks like it attaches to the axel with a set scremm and then you mount the freewheel onto it.

LHD Freewheel mounted onto disc brake rotor mounts.

I have a NuVinci hub with a LH rotor mount. I would like to find a way to mount a freewheel to the rotor mount. The mount has the standard 6 holes. Is there a ready made product. I have acsess to a welder and other minor fab tool, so I can fab one if I have to. I read several posts but couldn't...

Need a source LHD disc brake mounted sprocket

Yes I understand that there are disk adapters. I am looking for a sprocket that is predrilled to work on a disk brake adapter. I have a tadpole trike that doesn't use rear brakes. So I have the rear disk brake adapter to use free of obstructions for a sprocket. I know I found a website a year...

Would Battlebot Motors and Drives work?

I just happen to think of it runnin my buddies bot. Like i said that thing is heavy, atleast 70lbs, and it flies. It also has no problem with lite rain and small puddle. The motor and controller put of with alot of hits and keep workin. Granted they are out of mine and most folks price range...

    ezip motor style bike kit

I should have clarified a little. I would like to see someone be able to use the currie motor on a trike and still be able to use the gears. I know some folks say you don't have to gear an electric motor, but I am. The trike shown has a left side drive. Which is one of the ways I was...

    ezip motor style bike kit

Yeah, the motor will be right behind my seat. They have a kit specifically for trikes and split chain. I don't need a crank and all that. Just the motor, motor mount, 1cw, 1ccw freewheel, controller, throttle will be bought from cyclone. the battery will either be built, I have done one before...

    ezip motor style bike kit

I forgot about the freewheel. The brake cutoff I never thought of. As far as Cyclone, I have read alot of posts saying DON"T GET THE INTERNAL CONTROL. The 650watt is the first one that has an external. The quote I got was for everything including shipping & mount. SO I guess after I think about...

    ezip motor style bike kit

Dumbass, Yeah I realize the weight issues with a trike. Believe it or not, it weighs in at 27lbs. That is the the reason why I will be getting atleast a 450watt motor. Here is a break down of the items and costs that I will need. If I am forgetting anything, please let me know...

Would Battlebot Motors and Drives work?

I was talking more about the gearbox setups. The motors that my buddy uses are extremely hardy. They put up with alot of abuse and come back for more. But, they are still WAY $$$$. But, some of the other battlebot pages I have been to have cheaper motor and alot of different gearboxes. I don't...
