    You can't use that switch for speed control. The blower is also only single speed. You would need a speed controller for a single phase motor.

    While a hammer head would work, a bucking bar is the proper tool. If you are in the US, the best places for this kind of riveting tools are Aircraft Spruce or Wicks Aircraft supply.

    Find the local scrap yard, and see if they have any older golf carts. Taylor-Dunns have a two horse continuous GE motor and a Curtis controller. You should be able to get the motor and controller for less than 50 bucks at scrap prices.

    Undercoat is a spray-on rubberized coating similar to Rhino-Liner for truck beds. Use two coats to ensure all the nooks and crannies are covered. It should keep the salt from eating the steel.

    EVen though I'm a Honda guy, I'd say get the Subbie. Where you live and drive, it should be the only choice. All wheel drive, plenty of room, and decent fuel economy. For the rust problem, undercoat, then undercoat again. A weekly wash and wax during winter will also help a lot.

    This Ryobi BMS consumes power even when the battery is at rest. 0.222mA, or 4mW at 18.5V nominal. The good thing is that it draws power from all 5 cells so no imbalance is created. Thanks for that tip. It's good to know IF :mrgreen: I ever need to store my packs. I use the tools so much...
