Looks like I need 2 of LFP's motors

A bungee attachment to the rear of the helmet might help hold you up, hang gliders also face prone, do they have issues with sore necks? maybe the wind helps there too.

    Fisher and Paykel motors

The factory controller in the washing machines crash, the motors are recycled.

    Fisher and Paykel motors

See there is way more room for copper, I could stick my finger in there!! I'm not sure the multi strand vs single makes much difference, would you go larger than 1mm or smaller than .6, I guess it depends on the characteistics required, Am I right saying small wire and more turns = higher KV...

    Fisher and Paykel motors

Looking at mine (I think an 80s) it has a fair space for more winds. I've reconfigured for a windmill 7phse but I think I would prefer a motor. I'm willing to rewire(it would be my first) but what size wire should I use?

How are band brakes supposed to be adjusted?

There is a screw w/locknut on outer edge of the band housing, it controlls the evenness of the band contact around the drum, screw till seated then back off 2-3 turns and tighten locknut, adjust cable to remove slack. It may help to sand the drum as it may be shinny/greasy from ingression.

How are band brakes supposed to be adjusted?

How far do you pull the brake lever in, does it touch the grip? can you adjust the slack from the line?

    Fisher and Paykel motors

I'm really looking for a sensorless controller as I would like to use it for an aircraft. Surely it can handle more than 2KW!!, I have a simmilar but smaller goldenmotor w/alloy side plates (see avatar) and regularly run 2Kw on my trike and it barely warms. The GM the magnets are very thin and...

    Fisher and Paykel motors

Digging this up again, I have one of these motors, now I'm wondering what sensorless RC controller would work well?

    Friction losses of large bearings

The friction is in the seals, removal of seals will allow for a free rolling bearing.

    Outrunner enclosure

You can make the flange/ring from plywood or acrylic screwed to the mount then ali or poly can be glued/screwed into the ring.

When you take a corner and accel out does it tend to spin out or is it all controlable?

Friction drive outrunner setup. New DJ bike.

A single sided cone roller with the motor mounted to a sliding mount on a rack, CVT? Any opinions weather or not a oneway bearing would work as a roller by itself on a skinny 700c wheel? I have never touched a oneway bearing so I don't know how tall or wide they are.

Friction drive outrunner setup. New DJ bike.

Seems like goped copied you  http://www.goped.com/Products/GoBike/default.asp Well not exactly, they list it does freewheel. I really like how simple this type of kit is, it would be great for my flat bar road bike, earlier I made a non freewheel friction drive (ala: freestyle peg)...

So smooooth and clean at the back, spagetti at the front, argh?? The console looks great but do you need to mount the controllers there? You've probably got some crazy way of packaging that I cant see atm.

Project #3. Two motors, Three wheels, Six grand!

Matt I admire your work but it wouldn't surprise me if you never get to use this 12.5Kw for traction with the skinny wheel and top speed will be an issue without suspension. Alas you will be able to smoke it at 40Mph

My belt broke - motor's timing pulley isn't secure

Did you spin the pulley on the shhaft causing it to not line up u know 180*?

I want your opinions on a trike idea

More thought on the subject, you may need to build a trike from scratch Matt as most of the available trikes are designed for hpv speed and power, with a three wheeler the rear end can slip out easily and can spin a rider around in a spit second, one bounce loss of traction under high G can...

I want your opinions on a trike idea

When I ride my trike fast I need to lean into the corners for stability which reduces the width of the crossmember required, once leaning is mastered you can slide trikes through corners perfectly, If you are keeping the trike for thrashing you may find it handles better if you lean far out of...

    Wireless throttle?

I don't have the ability or equipment to build a nice throttle like recumpences and I don't like the idea of a non spring loaded pot, just looking for something small and adaptable to the bars.

    Wireless throttle?

Same thing if your wire breaks/unplugs when you need to go, wireless rarely drop out if it's a quality setup and the transmitters batteries have good charge, also the transmission distance is short on a bike. I will canabalise a pistol grip and retain the index finger action as a thumb throttle...

    Wireless throttle?

While searching I found this digital interface board for rc controllers but they refer to brushed motors, it has return to zero failsafes. http://www.4qd.co.uk/accs/smr.html I think a receiver is still required or am i mistaken?
