    PC Powersupply for Lipo Charger

12v in series, wouldn't that make it 24v? you mean run in parallel and get 700w. how do some people used the meanwell's to bulk charge directly? does it have internal CC/CV control?

What sounds should electric vehicles make?

use the force.... just kidding... you do have a good point, but what about the driver/rider of the electric vehicle, what happened to their "skill" of being a safe/attentive operator?

    PC Powersupply for Lipo Charger

glad you guys pointed that out.. what do you use for power supplies to power these things? I dont feel like spending $200 on a charger to only need another $200 power supply to power the thing.

great that you got that sorted out.. FYI the throttle will only have 3 lines (green, red, black). guess they just used a 4 pin connector.

    PC Powersupply for Lipo Charger

what do you mean no 16S?!?! right in the spec it said... "This means the TP820CD is well-equipped to quickly charge batteries up to 8S on each port for use in series as up to 16S in large-scale airplanes and helicopters." It doesn't really matter as i charge 5s packs x8 parallel

Everything installed but hubmotor won't run

did you check to make sure you didn't swap 6 and 8 by accident, as they use the same connector? it should work even if you have a sensored motor as it all relies on the controller

    PC Powersupply for Lipo Charger

Has anyone ever used a PC powersupply as a source for an RC lipo charger? Looking at the specs of even a 550w PSU the 12v+ is capable of 23A constant, and for ~$20 its hard to beat. My Thunderpower TP610C comes with a built in power supply, but it gets insanely hot charging 5s @ even a measly...

What sounds should electric vehicles make?

I just dont see how our bikes making noise will actually get someone in a vehicle to hear you unless you sound like a motorbike with the baffles out of the exhaust.... Or you could just get one of these... Loud and obnoxious 8)...

el_bassboi_sv's Giant e-bike build + [trail riding video]

Couldn't wait to take it out after the fix this morning... Strapped on my twin pack into the small panier under the seat, with the rest of the batteries in the backpack (when those run low). Rode 42km without a hitch as a 42v system  Found im using ~50A at 40km/h and ~23 at...

el_bassboi_sv's Giant e-bike build + [trail riding video]

I would first like to thank everyone on this forum and community, without you this project would not have been possible. This is my first e-bike build, so every bit of information helps. I was approached by a friend at work (Red_Liner740) to have an e-bike build-off a couple of weeks ago, so I...

    Crystalyte HS3540 HAL

yeah it ended up being the +, -, and 1 hall line that had rubbed through the sheathing by the tight seal ring on the hub. got that sorted this morning, am currently on the road (at public wifi hotspot) with 12km under the belt. runs smooth. peaked at 144A (41v) ended the day with 48km...

    Crystalyte HS3540 HAL

HELP>>> O.K. Had it all installed and did a trial (no load) @ 40v, no problems, great torque from the motor. Played with it for about 1 hr. Decided to try 60v, ran it to full speed (no load) and that was it... its as if a HAL went out or i hit my LVC (which i didn't). I switched back to 40v...

Thanks alot! I'm sure this will help alot of members out in the future. How long did it take to cure with the epoxy you used? I was looking at the spec sheet and they say 24hrs workable and 7days fully hardened!!! Seems like a long time. Can you think of any alternatives? Have you...

    ? Balance Leads & Operation ?

Now I'm questioning myself again, I guess safest bet is not to attach the balance leads UNTIL I'm wired in the charge mode (parallel 5S 8P). I did find some of my old bookmarks that may help some people; http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-lipo-batteries.html...
