IF my spreadsheets are correct PMDC motor/gearbox combos in wheelchairs are horribly inefficient .... around 30% efficient on the flat when driven @ approaching...

    Sam, Have a look at this typical wheelchair motor and gearbox combo. http://www.asidrives.com/pdf/adl100.pdf You'll see that the no load amps is 5.2 amps = 124.8 watts loss in the motor and gearbox. I've calculated this motors no load amps to be around 1.6 ... hopefully the maths and...
