Best power to weight hub motor..?

Thanks for that response. It has to be a hub motor. It actually doesn't matter which wattage so long as its the lightest for how much power it can put out without overheating or damaging. I have this problem now where I am trying to put a parts diagram together using a Magic Pie 5 20 inch...

Best power to weight hub motor..?

Sure I understand. I am trying to reverse engineer a design for the entire craft that I already engineered. My mechanical engineer who I am paying says we need to start at the motors which are already on the market, rather than build a fuselage first and then find the right motors after. He...

Best power to weight hub motor..?

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm just looking for the best hub motor on the market for power and weight, not including the rest of the application. I would give my detailed drawings but I don't want to disclose to much information. This isn't your typical quadcopter......

Best power to weight hub motor..?

Hello, I am currently retrofitting my Magic Pie 5 motors to make a drone, and I am thinking that my motors are too heavy and that there is a better motor for the job. Does anyone know of the best power to weight ratio hub motor on the market for a decent price? Would love to hear any feedback...

Magic Pie 3 20" on my rear wheel of Kuwahara Magican EX BMX

Hello, I am looking to put the Magic Pie 3 20" rear wheel on my 1980's Kuwahara Magican EX BMX bike and the problem is that the Magic Pie 3 rear wheel is 130mm and I need somewhere between 100-110mm to fit the rear frame of the BMX bike. Has anyone been able to mill the axle back a bit and put...

Trying to ditch spokes and go hard plastic...

I feel like the second there is any wheel hop that is the end of the rim, so the motor and the outer rim need to be separate and replaceable. Or just balance them.

Trying to ditch spokes and go hard plastic...

I will check this out. Yeah it seems like both sides don't want to make a whole. I don't think the breathing is an issue if done right.

I am just sick of trying to fix spokes all the time. I don't know why I have such bad spoke luck.

Trying to ditch spokes and go hard plastic...

Is it possible? I called Skyway wheels, who makes sweet rims for BMX bikes, and hundreds of other apps, they said they have tried multiple times with no success. If a big company like this can't do it, what is the problem? Skyway wheels said that they just have a hard time getting the motor...

    Crystalyte Crown Motor 10kW

    Double crown fork mount...

Somewhere in some thread a few months ago I saw a guy who had a fork mount made for his front mounted battery. I have 2 questions... Where can I have this made? And is 30 pounds of A123 cells on the front too much for over the front wheel? I am about to be purchasing the Crystalyte The Crown...

Just purchased: 2013 Club Car Low Speed Vehicle

I am starting this discussion, because I am having a very hard time trying to get insurance for my low speed vehicle. I live on a 7 mile long island and all I use is this LSV, no other car. I am trying to get a policy for just the LSV and nobody wants to give it to me unless I get a primary...

    Planetary gear technology

Thats pretty cool thanks. But that seems to be only bicycle street legal. Nobody is making a more high power dual or more speed hub? I am looking for 2000 watts plus for a bicycle and 20kW plus for a car. Still researching. Thanks though that is pretty cool! Alex

    Planetary gear technology

I first started by watching this which got me even more confused but I think I got it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha-laPKWFU8 I have two questions about both planetary gears and also hub motors. Do any electric hub motors offer a multiple planetary gearset in the hub? It seems like it...

    Hub motors with solid rims?

Thanks! I saw a thread on here somewhere about a guy who took two heavy duty rims and epoxy'd them together to make a wider rim. I was thinking about doing this and respokeing everything. It is very annoying when you get the wabbles going 20 mph.

    Hub motors with solid rims?

So do you think it is worth going and talking to Electric Rider about it? I hate to have the bike down for the two weeks it would most likely take.. but it sucks that I have SO much play left to right. I can move the hub a good inch left to right in the center of the rim. I've tightened the...

    Hub motors with solid rims?

Does anyone have a solid rim setup? I am sick of tightening spokes with my Crystalyte 7240 system. I am running a 24 inch rim. If anyone knows anything about solid rims and information would be great!! Kind regards.
