    2 motors 1 twist throttle

hello there, I have a bike with 2 motors, one magic pie 3 in the front wheel and a cyclone mid engine( each its own controller) , the power is supplied with a 48volts/32Ah lifepo4 battery, the current set up is equiped with on the left and right hand side a twist throttle for each motor and in...

    where to buy stronger bms

allright it has been a while but I am back I have read all latest comments and understand some of your annoyance with someone like me, yes I can make anything that I can see (steel wood stone) - no I dont know much/anything about electronics, still thanks for all comments most were usefull and...

    where to buy stronger bms

ok back in the saddle soon i hope, I bought a 16S lyens bms, it came without explanation on the colors this on has a slightly different setup from my other bmses there are only 3 cables yellow, blue and black, and the leveling wires are all red exept for one black one my thinking is: black...

    where to buy stronger bms

what actually broke down is not clear to me the first time it was the last mofet (visually overheated and after measuring resistance between all connections it was clear that this one was dead), this one I replaced but the bms didnt work after repairs, so something else broke down as well this...

    where to buy stronger bms

Split up the battery into 2 separate modules. Connect them with 2 separate BMS'es. Otherwise try BMSbatteries.com. ProDigit, I was told that this was ''not done'' for risk of damage, or do you mean draining one battery and when voltage drops below minimum switching to the other battery?

    where to buy stronger bms

here is the story ive bought a kit from eclipsebikes, its a cyclone 1200 watts motor, for power i have used 32 lifepo4 16 amp headway cells, 2 parralel and 16 sets serial with the use of one bms (33 amps continuous and 60 max) giving me 48 volts over 32 amps. The main reason for the high amps...

    where to buy stronger bms

after blowing 2 bmses in only a few hundred kilometers i think its time for something stronger than the ones i had , I need a 48 volt bms for a lifepo4 battery that can take at least 50 amps nominal and something like 100 amps max. can anyone advise me on an online store that sells them...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

placed a 56 teeth sprocket on the cranck, et voila, instant improvement. Just not as much as i hoped for, I still overheated, but its hopefull cause I could get a lot further and pedalling is way more comfortable and effective especially in the higher gears. Now a 12 teeth freewheel sprocket on...

    disconnecting controller for charging Y/N

problem solved I`ve put in a keyswitch with 3 positions pos 1 controller connected, charger disconected pos 2 all off pos 3 charger connected, controller disconnected also found me an automatic roll-up cord so I`m all set everything works fine, thanks for the input guys

    disconnecting controller for charging Y/N

thanks, I will put 2 small switches between the pos and neg between the bms and the charcher as well, I should be save

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

here some figures of my own Rolling radius 228 cm 14t motor sprocket/18 t rear wheel sprocket = 0,77 (cranck sprockets 48t/48t does not come in equation) Gearbox on motor 1/9,33 Speed 38 kph uphill in first gear first gear hubratio: 0,63 0,63x0,77/9,33 = 0,0525 = downratio from motorsprocket...

    disconnecting controller for charging Y/N

ok thanks for the info, my bike has a fixed battery and disconnecting seemed pointless, a small switch in the thin red line is far more convenient to incorporate. so the decision to incorporate the charger into the bike is made, all I need now is an old vacuumcleaner so I can have an automatic...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

ok a test further and this is the outcome I left and started climbing at once in the standard setup, 14 motorsprocket 48/48 cranck with nexus in first, climbing speed reached 32 kph without paddeling for lack of superhuman paddeling capabilities ,then on the flat max speed with paddeling in 7...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

I will be getting myself that 56 teeth sprocket, thats an instant improvement, and maybe with the smaller sprocket on the crank for the secondary drivetrain, I might be fine

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

wow lots of feedback cruising at 40 kph on the flat, uphill I choose the lowest gear and manage 20 kph the axle is 20 mm and the 7 teeth sprockets are for 12 mm axles so I dont think I can manage that but yes a reduction before the crank would be optimal. I am thinking on scrapping an old 2500...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

ps 28 inch rims are the standard size for a bike in holland, and the 700 is basically the same, I was told that 29 inchers dont really exist but that these are 28 inchers with extra thick tires. to change the gear from the larger to the smaller `sprocket` I have to change the chain, with a...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

here a pic of the drive train, its a 2 chain system with the 3rd blade on the inside of the 2 you can see on this pic, i know it is the easiest solution to solve the ratio problem from the motor point of view to use the smaller blade as the secondairy drivetrain, i`ll give it a go. but if I can...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

on the motor is a 14 teeth sprocket on the rear wheel 18 teeth the crank has 3 blades one 32 teeth and two 48 teeth blades right now the motor drives a 48 teeth blade and the other 48 teeth blade drives the rear wheel so that is 1:1 and doesnt come in to the equation the ratio therefore is...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

well yes that would cost me in top speed but the sticker on the motor itself says maximum 4500 rpm, and at the ratios I use right now I am not even getting close to that, also my wheel cirumference is quite large 228 cm and i think the system was designed for a 26 inch wheel with more gears...

    change ratio to avoid overheating?

well after some initial problems and questions posed on the forum I can now post some pics, however it remains an open project and a truly finished bike is for somewhere in the future. for now 2 things are to be solved, the first is integrating the charger this is relatively simpel. But the...

    disconnecting controller for charging Y/N

almost done................. well the bike is getting its final shape, and the charger will be integrated into the bike. And here I have been getting different info about, should i disconnect the battery from the controller before charging or can I leave it connected, the explanation with the...

bms capacity related to battery amps

ok a definite thanks, apparently the world of lipo isnot that straightforward, and yes out here the hills are steep 8 % for 4 km to get home from the bakery never knew I could pulll more than 24 amps with this engine well new at the game so I ll probably be paying dearly in the near future...

bms capacity related to battery amps

there we go after blowing one triac on my bms, spare parts are flying towards me as I write and the bike will be fully operational again soon..............but I would like to know if my bms is really up to the job bms capacity 33 amps continuous, 60 amps max at 48 volts battery 16 pairs of 16...

    blown triac

well hello, my first post on the forum, Living in France surrounded by hills I decided to build me an e-bike. Right now I am building a battery for a 1200 watt motor and I have hit a snag, in my attempt to increase my range I have used 32, 16 amp cells placing 2 cells parallel and the 16 pairs...
