    I've often wondered why someone doesn't invent a tube that isn't a hoop. Picture your normal tube, but with a break. You'd be able to mount it in an emergency without removing the rear wheel from the bike. I guess for normal bikes, it's just not that hard to pull the rear wheel.

    Good choice. I had one of those for ten years, still looked good even though I had ridden it quite a bit. I let my son take it to college, where it was stolen, or I'd still have it.

    Sounds like you should build up a tandem. Think of the room for batteries! I'd do it, but getting my wife onto the tandem is never a problem, and she's so fit, it's like having a motor, anyway.

    If you could do it all again...

    Guess it takes all kinds. I just got done moving my setup ONTO a hardtail steel cruiser. I found my suspended comfort bike to be too twitchy. It was all that weight so far back and so high on the bike. The lower CG, longer wheelbase, and balloon tires have created a much more comfortable ride...

    First-timer getting down to business

    Small but important point. The heavier the bike is, the HARDER it is to stop. 100 lbs. of batteries means you need better brakes.
