    been thinking on this, i think that a 28hp with electric motor will be to heavy on the rear of a 14" cat , it would be to heavy for a 14" rowing boat, i think you would be better off with a outboard around 4hp to 6hp.

    nope .. dont need to gear it up if the pitch and diameter of the prop is right, getting different dia and pitch on a prop for a outboard will not be easy, as the pitch and dia are made for the outboard specs. i can not help with the size of electric motor as i have not experimented with them...

    the one in the video is noisy because its a angle grinder, but if you use a direct drive off of a bike motor, it will be no louder than a ebike, and if it is it wont be much louder, the gearbox on a outboard is under the water which helps to keep it quiet ,,

    on a outboard motor you dont want to gear it down, there is a reduction in the gearbox at the propeller and the only thing that might need to be changed will be the propeller for one with a different pitch and or diameter.

    i have to wear reading glasses at that distance, the digits are blurred , but i cant wear them whilst riding as any thing further away becomes blurred with the glasses on , its the same with the speedo that i bought, i just can not read it whilst traveling,

    and easier to see at night, i cant see why i didnt do it before, i thought of it months ago. just a pity that i could not fit the amp meter as well, they do make amp/volt meters but the digits are half the size of these ones, and i would need my reading glasses to see it, not a bed fix though...

    after reading this, i think its the batteries, when i first came on E-S i had a 48v scooter,with lead acid batteries, - charged the batteries and they held the voltage fine, but they did not hold enough current and just faded soon after turning the wheel. then after leaving it for a few seconds...
