Difficult to thieve idea - shorting the motor.

I just had a thought... as you do. In my electric bike build, I used a three way XT-60 style connection to the three phase hub motor, to replace the crappy bullet connectors originally supplied. I can't think of a good reason not to build a shorting plug to go in place of the phase wires coming...

Spot welding fuses to individual 18650 cells?

I have read a number of threads regarding the use of cell-by-cell fusing. I honestly can't see the evidence that this is required. I work in the medical field and the Lithium Packs we use (Mostly 6S4P and 7S3P packs) have only two thermal fuses built into the packs, apart from the over current...

    52v 14s4p Hailong Case

Just make sure everything will fit. I used the smaller type Halong case (with no USB output), 13S4P with 30A BMS, 52x18650 cells glued were a neat fit with no room left. My recycled cells were soldered ( for some), with no observable detriment to the pack.

can use 14.8v 30A BMS for 14.8v 5ah battery pack?

If this is in fact what you have, using a 14.8V 30A BMS for a 14.8V 5AH pack is fine. The current rating of the BMS is the discharge current through the BMS, not the capacity of your pack.

    First E-bike Conversion advice

I have just built my first electric bike using the Voilamart 1000W rear-drive-with-LCD that you linked to. I don't feel it's too heavy, I'm just testing the range and performance battery pack I built for it (I have a small, constant supply of used 2200mAH 18650 batteries in packs from work that...
