    Thanks for the link! I hadn't really considered mounting the small battery elsewhere, but on reflection, moving it aft might really help with rideability on difficult terrain.

    If you're still refining the design: I wonder if it's possible to leave a channel on the inside for the temperature sensor and its wires? It'd be really nice to keep that right up against the motor housing.

    FWIW, in my case everything was made right by re-flashing -- I did both the display and the motor, but in retrospect I suspect it was just a corrupted bit of flash memory in the display. Very likely caused by power interruption, but still, nice to know it didn't destroy my hardware.
