    First build, so many questions

A third layer on top would add way too much height. It's sky high as it is. A lot has pulled me away from this project but I'll be able to get back at it in the next few days. I've been hunting the right bags but to no avail. I might go for a super cheesy over the top saddlebag. I'm not...

I will never buy from BMSBattery again.

So then after all the shipping BS I get a letter from TNT saying I owe ANOTHER $75 for import fees. Sure thought that was part of the shipping cost, eh TNT? WTF.

Getting what I paid for would be one thing. NOT getting what I paid for is another.

    First build, so many questions

It's a BMSbattery aluminum shell battery on their 07 rack. I'm hunting old school panniers with metal clips like my old Karrimors. Which were stolen with my Trek 420. Sigh.

I will never buy from BMSBattery again.

I've never had a worse customer experience in my life, hands down. Their tech support doesn't know the first thing about what they sell. I've spoken with 4 different reps and they were all clueless. They say they have items in stock but when you order them it takes weeks to put your order...

    First build, so many questions

Ok I went with some washers I found and mounted the wheel. There wasn't room for the torque arm on the drive side (hitting derailleur) so I used the two torque nuts on that side. One on the inside of the dropout and one on the outside. It's a steel frame so I imagine this is fine. I don't...

    First build, so many questions

Wow tech support at BMSBATTERY is REAL helpful. I don't know else how to tell them what part is missing. Would anyone happen to have one they could take a photo of?I know it's a longshot.

    First build, so many questions

Thanks for that pic Jonathan. My kit came with zero instructions. I'm sure I would've muddled through the wiring but this is way easier.

    First build, so many questions

Yeah the sleeve is missing. I forgot to order the lcd3 display (facepalm-$55 shipping) and told them to send the sleeve with that order. The useless support has no idea what I'm talking about and asks me for a link to the part. Derp. I figured it was just a spacer but wasn't sure. I found...

    First build, so many questions

Hi thanks for all the replies. Was a long weekend here so not much time on the bike. Yeah that sleeve is exactly what I'd need and it wasn't there. I put the two washers that came with it on the one side and I thought it might work but then when I tightened the nuts it's a no go. I went...

    First build, so many questions

There's a good 3/4" of metal missing to tighten the hub into the frame. I think a part is missing from my order. I'm emailing with bmsbattery about it right now. Though I'm not holding my breath.

    First build, so many questions

Ok I got the connector off, but now when I put the axle in my dropouts I see there's nothing there on the drive side to go against the inside of the dropout. It's just the bare axle protruding from where I screwed on the freewheel. Am I missing parts or what's the deal? http://youtu.be/y1wL4vzGUTY

    First build, so many questions

Hi, I was on here until a month or so ago when I ordered my parts from BMS. I'll post separately about that experience  I ordered a Bafang BPM2 48v 500w 328rpm. I got a code 12. From what I understand it's rated to 250rpm at 36v so would be 333 rpm at 48v? It's black with no big...

    BMS confusion and other ???s

Thank you, that's such a help. I only weigh 150lb and will pedal hard on a fairly light bike. I've decided to go with one of those higher output but still cheap shrink wrap 48v batteries in a double rack over the new frame battery and run an s12s with a lcd3. 360rpm at 2.02 meters circ. Comes...

    New BMSBattery bottle style batteries

I live chatted with Bin Li on bmsbattery a couple nights ago. I asked if this controller would be made available as a spare in the future. They said of course. I asked if I could add spare right now to my order. They went and asked, apparently, and the answer was no. I asked if this...

    New BMS frame battery controller

while I really like the format of this battery pack the limitations are rather limiting. If something were to go wrong it (er, when) then there's not a lot of room to move. Looks like a rack battery will be the way to go. And can go with 25 or 30amps instead for the bafang CST. thanks for...

    New BMS frame battery controller

Here's the new kit: http://www.bmsbattery.com/battery-pack/680-bottle-ebike-battery.html I had a live chit chat with a rep from bms and asked about buying a spare of one of the included 20a sine wave controllers. Bin Li said it was not possible because it comes together. I said that if the...

    BMS confusion and other ???s

Is the 36v CST wound differently than the 48v BPM freewheel? IOW, is it a problem to run the 36v CST at 48v if the amps are limited by a 20a controller?

    battery matched to motor question

Ok I did a live chat with bms about the new bottle batteries with built in 20a controller. http://www.bmsbattery.com/battery-pack/680-bottle-ebike-battery.html I told them I wanted to buy a spare. Said it's not available. Asked if it will be available. "of course". Can I order it now...

    battery matched to motor question

Ah yes I see it now. A 20 amp sine wave, with all the bits I was going to order as extras, the waterproof wires I wasn't sure about and all the right connectors. Perfect. One last thing to figure out. I'm only seeing the BPM CST as a 36v. Is there any difference, other than the freehub...

    battery matched to motor question

That's awesome. I was thinking about Paul's use of these cases and lectrics but I've been wanting to keep my first build cost low. I've only ever ridden a bionx bike around a parking lot and I'm looking for something to help me get back on the bike after a car crash. I've read that...

going electric, converting one of my bikes

Thank you, you clinched my decision to go with a bafang bpm cassette at 270rpm. It's a bigger and more expensive motor than I wanted but it looks like it solves the issues with the two different Q100 hubs. Ultimately I'll go for a bbs02 but I'm concerned about reliability. Good luck with your...
