What causes stone dead cell groups in a tool pack?

Looking at it closely, i don't think the board does any balancing. It looks like it's just an interface board between the battery and the charger with a temp sensor. None of the resistors look big enough to me to do any balancing.

What causes stone dead cell groups in a tool pack?

So the board in the pack is a balancing board? Have you looked into how it functions at all?

Interesting, mine were both samsung INR 15L's. May just be coincidence then.

What causes stone dead cell groups in a tool pack?

Which Dewalt pack was the fault in? I have had similar experiences with two older 3AH packs. I haven't had a 4AH pack go bad yet.

I like it. Someone with a 3D printer could easily make something similar and easier to replicate.

    New cordless tool batteries inbound

These look great to me: http://www.dewalt.com/products/accessories/batteries-and-chargers/batteries/20v60v-max-flex-volt-60ah-battery-2pk/dcb606-2 They are dual configuration with an internal switching system, either 5s3p or 15s1p. Currently using 2AH cells, there should be a version using 3AH...

    Bafang BBSHD, 1000W, 68mm-120mm BB

I blame it on user error, i was running 25A and 60V and slammed the throttle on. Didn't fail immediately, waited until i...

Bafang BBSxx - fault finding and fixes

Ever figure this out? I am having error 30 issues with my BBS02. I have ~800 miles on it at this point. I tried connecting to the controller with the empowered cable, but no luck there. I had never tried it, but seems like it should work. This makes me think it's in the controller...

    Maximum voltage for BBS02 750W ?

While not really recommended, I run my BBS02 at 15S. I'm using drill batteries and they are 5s, so until I rip them apart and build my own pack 15S it is. It may not be ideal or idiotproof but it works fine for me. I have >500 miles on this configuration so far. Fully charged off the Dewalt...

    3D metal printer

We do 3d printing at work and have a direct to metal machine. I have been too afraid to ask at work what it costs to make parts. The materials that we use for the process are incredibly expensive. I think they have to be extremely pure to get it work correctly which drives up the cost as well...

Can a 12s BMS be charged by 55V or 58V charger?

That battery doesn't look as huge as I imagined from your description. Not sure i'd like the pedals having no resistance whatsoever. Those brakes also seem like they might be a bit on the sketchy side for 30-35? Looks like you are local-ish to me. I'm pretty new to the E-bike community but...
