    Cheaper ESC?

The Hobbyking ESC has caused cogging for me when going from partial throttle to full throttle even when moving over 18mph. Its quite dangerous because at that speed when it cogs you go flying off and if you are not ready will faceplant on the road.

    Cheaper ESC?

Mccloed, I also have the same issues with the HK 150a car esc. The hesitation is dangerous especially at higher speeds.

    Cheaper ESC?

Wouldn't get that one. I have it and it has problems when the batteries are at full charge. Basically the voltage is to much and causes the motor to cog throwing you off the board unless you are very gentle with the throttle. Would recommend...

    Cheaper ESC?

Spend the money on a good esc. Its the brains of the entire setup and without it your board will be essentially unusable. The Hobbywing ones are the best at 6S. Also check with torqueboards on the his 6s ESC. Either the EZRUN or the Xerun 6s units. We are talking about $35 to $50 difference...

    Cheaper ESC?

None of those will work because they are not Car ESC's. The brakes on boat, heli or plane esc's are totally different than what is required for a skateboard. Also the starting algorithms are different. Would only recommend getting a car ESC unless you want non functional brakes and bad...

Single Motor - FWD or RWD?

Working on my second build and was thinking about going FWD on this one. Was wondering if anyone had opinions on what they liked better and how going FWD would effect handling dynamics. Deck is a downhill board from Arbor, 34' long and I am running a 10s configuration with a 220kv motor.

    Brushless Motor Problem

Did you put a plastic bag over the motor when you filed down the shaft? Might be metal shavings but could also be numerous issues. Make sure your esc and motor connections are tight. What voltage are you running through the motor? Also did you calibrate your transmitter and esc?

Fibretech FlyPAN 2015 Dual Diag 12S

Only problem with HXT 4mm is that you can plug a battery into a battery. The male and female ends are exactly the same so if you make a mistake and plug 2 batteries together......well have a fire extinguisher nearby. With EC5 this is impossible to do plus I think EC5 has a higher amp rating.

    Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

I am good with the $300 if the pack is lifepo4, has bms and has a single charge lead. Life of battery will be twice that of lipo packs so really we are talking about a $100 delta. If I don't have to take the pack out and can charge with a cheap single mission charger $100 is worth it.

Where did you get the enclosure from? Meaning the physical part not the vinyl wrap/stickers.

High Discharge Battery Packs and Cogging

Thanks torque, Kinda what I thought. Are you using the ESC on your website on your boards?

High Discharge Battery Packs and Cogging

Was talking with an engineer at an ESC company and he mentioned that cogging issues on an electric skateboard at low speeds might be due to battery sag or the batteries not meeting the ESC demands. He recommended 30c as an absolute minimum. Also he did mention that the lack of a sensor on the...

    Motor/ESC Issue

Thanks guys. It was a motor wire. Weird that happened as they were a tight fit and I put electrical tape around them. Guess the vibrations are more prevalent than I thought.

    Motor/ESC Issue

Decided to take my board outside of the safe confines of my neighborhood today and had an issue about 2 miles in. I was riding on a wide sidewalk next to a road that had lots of dirt and small pebbles going up a decent hill but not to steep. My motor locked up and would no longer spin. Not...

    Range Issues

I think I got it. Parallel lowers voltage but increases amps and runtime. Series increases voltage output but at the cost of amps and overall runtime. Makes we wonder what is the most common battery people are using and how many of them?

Thanks Vedder. If I go to parallel what could I expect with regard to range and top speed?

    Range Issues

I think I am running them in series actually. I have a battery connecter like the one below to connect them up. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__34450__EC5_Battery_Harness_12AWG_for_2_Packs_in_Series_UK_Warehouse_.html Guess I should get a parallel connector. Speaking of that what...
