    Bicycle Based Lightweight Motorcycle

Yeah when I would be going 45 or 50 it would be on smooth roads. If I ever get it off road it would be slow speed and by off road I mean the occasional two track or field. Probably nothing super gnarly. Brakes really are my only concern at with the bike parts. I have a set of 203mm rotors I...

    Bicycle Based Lightweight Motorcycle

Well after a little more research I see that some people are hitting 40-45 mph with the cyclone on some lighter bikes using only 52 volts. I suspect that with 72 volts my 45-50mph goal should not be too far out of reach. I think I am going to step up the battery to approximately 20AH but...

    Bicycle Based Lightweight Motorcycle

So late in 2015 I wrapped up version 1.0 of my 2wd electric bicycle. This year I have decided to revamp that bike to make it a little more tidy. I have about wrapped up that build. Anyway I will be riding that bike around for a bit but I have decided that I want to build a new bike. This...

Speedo freakout while pedaling with PAS

Well. As I suspected, it was nothing more than the motor itself acting on the pickup. I moved the pickup and magnet away from the center of the wheel and everything works as it should. Problem solved.

Speedo freakout while pedaling with PAS

I believe each item serves its own separate function. I did take not of a few things. For starters I have the sensor on the rear wheel. There is a motor in the rear wheel as well. I can have the controller on for the rear motor and the assist level set to zero and the speedo will read...

    Proper Kill Switch

I finally got my bike on the road and I wanted to up date this thread about my switch. So essentially I just put a switch in one of the lines that runs between a thermo switch mounted on the battery and the BMS. In theory this should have worked. However if I hit the switch to turn it off...

Speedo freakout while pedaling with PAS

I have a S12S controller with the LCD 3 display and PAS only While pedaling the speedometer goes crazy. It jumps all over and goes as high as 50 mph. As soon as I stop pedaling and coast the jumping stops and it reads the speed as it should. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

    Lunacycle batteries

I bought one of their cheaper packs and tore it open to add a master kill switch. It all seemed legit. Proper quality cells, proper wire routing and a quality bms. Until I start building my own packs they will be my go to vendor for battery packs. Also even when I start building my own packs I...

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

I put it all on the non drive side and it would only work pedaling backward. I also tried flipping the disk on both side and it did nothing. All tests were with the disk 1-2mm away from the sensor.

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

Well magically I played with it again and it all works just fine. For anyone that cares, the part of the sensor that forms a point points to the back of the bike if it is on top for the bottom bracket. Then the exposed magnets face the sensor. All of this is mounted on the drive side. I...

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

The PAS I have is listed in my first post. I know I had it in level 3 or higher. I am also pretty sure that I tried every combo but i will tinker with it some more. I will also check out the wires and see if all that checks out.

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

I do not have the crank or PAS mounted yet. I tested it as suggested while off the bike. I am running thw S12S controller

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

Well I have managed to get my motor to spin with the throttle but I am not getting anything from the PAS. All of my setting appear to be correct but I get nothing no matter which direction I go or side I use.

Details On The Q128H for P1 Settings (S-LCD3 Display)

Ok I have my wiring sorted and am entering in the info on the S-LCD3 Display. I am to the point where I need to do the math to enter the info in P1 (Motor Characteristic Setting Mode). As some of you know the formula to give you the number for this entry is as follows: P1 = motor gear...

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

This pic may help illustrate how it is held in place. I have had the sensor installed on both sides and it seems to mount just fine. After I do my test (still messing with wiring) I am hoping to mount it on the drive side so it is hidden better

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

I have a modern cartriged style bottom bracket with a square taper spindle and I have no issues mounting the sensor on either side. I am sorting through the wiring now and will do some testing to see what it does then make the choice to mount it accordingly

    Couple Quick PAS Mounting Questions

Getting ready to mount my PAS on my bike but I have a couple questions This is the PAS I bought https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-parts/504-pas-pulse-padel-assistant-sensor-with-12-pcs-magnets-parts.html Obviously the pic does not show the 12 pole magnet wheel. Here are pics of the one I have in...

Current over the smaller controller wires

I will likely keep the wires as they are but I am thinking about changing to one larger or a couple smaller multi-pin connectors to tidy things up a bit. The phase and power wires will have their own dedicated high current connectors.

Current over the smaller controller wires

This is what I suspected. Thanks for the info.

Current over the smaller controller wires

Is it safe to assume, based on the size of any wires that are not phase or power wires, that there is not much current passing through any of the smaller wires on the controller? I am looking into some multi-pin connectors to simplify my controller wiring and I want to make sure that the...

    The new Qute Q100H motor

I agree. If its a round hole with a round shaft through it then there is likely a seal that can be put in place. I may look into this myself if I do too much tinkering with my Q100H.

Q100H And Q128H Upgrades For Durability

Hmm I wondered if I needed to worry too much about the controllers in the bag. I would prefer to have them hidden but was concerned about heat. Maybe I will try them in the bag first and see what happens. I just want a main kill switch that disconnects the battery from everything. I have...

Q100H And Q128H Upgrades For Durability

Yeah I have some work to do with the wiring. I am adding a main power switch as well as a 12v drop down box for things like head and tail lights as well as phone chargers. All of this is getting stuffed in to a triangle bag. Once thats all mounted I will work on getting rid of any extra wires...

    Proper Kill Switch

Ok thanks. I already sorted that part out and ordered a nice push button power switch that should be here friday. It should mount nicely on the side of my battery bag. Hell I may be riding this thing before Halloween.

Q100H And Q128H Upgrades For Durability

Sure. I am open to any suggestions. I think I have most of the main parts that I intend to use and a game plan to use them but I would be curious to see what you suggest.
