Resistance, heat, busbars for battery pack...

Interesting read (or skim). But it kind of peters-out at the end... Fun to see others thinking about these things... So, at the end someone says this stuff might be good: CHEMTRONICS CW7100 Silver Conductive Grease Anyone have experience with it? It's actually available at Walmart for like $27...

Resistance, heat, busbars for battery pack...

This is all very helpful. Thanks to you all... I'll think about it some more, work with things, and maybe I'll post more later, more particulars... In the meantime, anyone ever use some kind of conductive grease, say, between the battery terminal and the busbar, to help compensate for...

Resistance, heat, busbars for battery pack...

hmm... I guess at the heart of it I'm thinking that heat causes resistance and voltage drop is due to resistance. Of course, as you say, we should just use wire etc. that's big enough. But in my situation I'm somewhat stuck with the bottleneck at the terminals of each cell... What Alan B. says...

Resistance, heat, busbars for battery pack...

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I'm mostly into batteries and I'm thinking 'battery folks' might be the ones to actually know something about this... It's mostly a theoretical/physics-type of question... The main question is, Is the sizing of conductors, like a...

    Repairing a zippy flightmax 8000

fyi, here's a couple more picts of the zippy tabs, one zoomed to 10x. It looks like it must be a crimping-spot welding tool. The close up shows the remains of what was an aluminum positive tab attached to the nickel negative tab of the adjacent cell. This particular connection was kind of...

    Repairing a zippy flightmax 8000

Yeah, I was thinking cutting might be the only way, yet one of the tabs is really short, there's really nothing to cut - just a blob of solder. So if I ever wanted to reuse that cell I'd still have to figure out a way to get that solder blob melted off... Are you saying that you (can) use the...

    Repairing a zippy flightmax 8000

I realize this is an old topic, but it's one of the many yet more pointed threads I've come across looking for some info... I'm trying to separate the cells in a Zippy Flightmax 4S 8Ah Lipo pack - and it's not as easy as I thought it might be. The tabs look like they might be crimped and...
