what motor for a norco fluid HT2 mtn bike

I just bought a 2023 Norco fluid mtn bike - 29er, 12 speed. I tried to fit a spare BBS02 motor to it using a 42 tooth chainring with an 18 mm offset to the center hoping the chainline would be okay. The bottom brkt is 68mm but given the chainstay design which flares outward from the bottom brkt...

Magic pie 2 with ext control and v3.14 CA

No worries about riding. I built 2 delta trikes. The one I use most has 20" wheels and runs a BBS02 with a 50T narrow/wide chainring. It is my go to ride, nice and low and though a bit heavy rides along at a nice steady 20 kph on the flat. The 2wd drive version with the Magic Pie motor was built...

Magic pie 2 with ext control and v3.14 CA

The PAS setting was Basic (Pwr) but I did not set a starting wattage. In the setup menu I configured the battery, and set the PAS specs but at the time thought all the other important specs were set. You may have just nailed it. Either way, it is now on it's way back to the dealer.

Magic pie 2 with ext control and v3.14 CA

The magic pie throttle connects directly to the Magic Pie controller using their connectors which are different than the ones Grin uses. Info in the GRIN 3.14 booklet supplied says for the cycle analyst to read voltage, etc you must at least run the green throttle wire through the cycle analyst...

Magic pie 2 with ext control and v3.14 CA

I have 20 replies from them. A typical reply is Can you post picture's of your controller's wiring and the cycle analyst's wiring? My reply was to post 5 pictures of the wiring. A day later - It looks like the horn is not connected properly, also watch these 2 videos from Grin on how to hook up...

Magic pie 2 with ext control and v3.14 CA

I built a delta trike, 2wd. Pedal power runs the left rear wheel via a jackshaft. The right is a Magic Pie 2 direct drive 1000 watt. Golden Motor CA sold me the CA version 3.14 along with the Grin 12 pole 2 wire sensor disc. The salesperson said the CA and disc were needed to have a working PAS...

Mid Drive Off Road Only BBSHD or TSDZ2

I have a KHS 500 fat bike with the BBSHD and a 17.5 A battery mounted on a home made rear rack. And I mostly ride on technical trails. This includes riding those same trails in winter down to around 20 below celcius. The motor has been rock solid reliable for 4 years now. The trails are tight...

Will the cold winter Shorten the life?

Where I live it,s cold. I only ride my BBSHD equipped fat bike in temps of minus 20 C or warmer. The cold weather does affect the range. What I,ve done is make a cover from a piece of 3/8" blue foam used for sleeping mats. It,s duct taped to the bike and has a small flap at the top so the charge...

    khs 500 fatbike

i just installed a BBSHD 1000 on my KHS 500 4 seasons fat bike. Got the 120mm version and a 42 tooth sprocket to go with it. Also installed a gear shift sensor and have but not installed yet the sensors for hydraulic brakes. The install went fairly easy, just needed about 1/8" of a spacer on...

I was very interested in the Yukon as well. I did purchase an EVO road style bike with the Bion x system from Portage Cycle on Portage Ave not to far from Polo Park area. I,ve only put 45 km,s on it so far but the warmer weather is coming. I wouldn't mind checking out your Yukon some time in...

What is the demographic for eBikers?

I fit in the old guy demographic, 63 actually. A bit overweight and I own "gasp" 2 vehicles one is a 4 wheel drive nissan truck for winter because winter in Manitoba kinda sucks and a Miata for summer use which gets good mileage and is 24 years old. I have always liked bikes, powered and...

    so many choices

I have had many motorcycles, the last ones were trials bikes so slow over rough terrain is very appealing, just carrying some water and maybe a light lunch is all I want. The Canadian Shield country is nearby and that means lots of rocks and trails. My biggest concern would a few water crossings...

    so many choices

I just recently got involved in the the e-bike world, in fact since we still have snow on the ground here in Winnipeg i haven't even had a chance to take my new ride out yet. Reading through the topics here is fascinating, I had no idea the EV world existed on the level it does. My comment is it...
