    My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

Tried that a while back and nothing charged but the direction. Power going backwards still felt better. Really annoyed with setting up this Kelly controller. Had it relearn my Motenergy motor without issue but these cheap my1020 motors won't act right (I've tried two so far).

    My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

It appears so but that doesn't make any sense. That's why I want to try the motor with my Kelly controller.

    My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

So is anyone this motor with a kelly controller? I'm trying to set my up via the auto identity and that appears to cycle just fine. But when I try to bench run the motor I get high speed stutters with the rpms shooting all over the place. Funny thing is it worked fine when I first hooked it up...

    My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

Thanks. I figured it was related to weight shift (forward CW, reverse is CCW) with my kart. Reverse burns rubber and speed offs strong while forward is far less exciting.

    My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

This may be a dumb question but do these motors run better in one direction versus the other? This is motor only, ignoring controller settings. Thanks

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

Thank you, that was very helpful. It's nice they have those kind of simulations for slopes.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

According to Google is looks like a 5-7% gradient in certain places. I have one of these for the towing.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

So the moral of the story is I will have to pedal with a hub motor but will be a lot easier than without one.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

Correct, same logic with RC brushless motors. Look for the lowest KV motor that hits the top speed I want at a given voltage.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

Huh, I always thought watts were watts with the only difference being high voltage means less amps with less heat and resistance.

Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

After building several electric gokarts ranging from 350w to 13kw I'm now looking into building an ebike. My fast kart weighs 200lbs, I can't ride any of my karts outside of my subdivision, and I'd like something that I can go out further and tow my daughter behind me. I'm looking at rear hub...

    CellLog 8S alternatives? Coulometers?

Do not get a cellmeter 8. I bought two from progressive RC and both are way off for individual cells. One is 0.04v at it's worst and the other is 0.06v.

Anyone dealt with Tech Direct Inc. LG Chem Modules

There is nothing you can do. You can't wait that long to file a claim. I also believe I bought bad batteries from Tech Direct. I bought their 20ah Panasonic Lithium batteries. One has completely failed and the others don't even reach 20ah. I bought 5 more from used cells greentecauto and they...

For an electric kart, what is the relationship of torque and power?

I also use the BMI speed calculator, it has been spot on for me as well. Once I know the gear ratio I'm going to use then I'll use it to get theoretical top speed. As for the controller, I'd have to use two since these are brushless motors. Also, I already have a large 400amp Kelly controller...

For an electric kart, what is the relationship of torque and power?

Thank you both. I've ordered the 60v versions of these motors and controllers so I've not over-volting as much. Plan is 18s, either lipos or hybrid batts.

For an electric kart, what is the relationship of torque and power?

So I've have some good luck with my Razor Dune Buggy adult conversion. The Chinese 48v brushless setup has been tested at up to ~68v and the controller was modified to push ~50 amps. It currently propels the 300lbs of kart and rider to 30mph while still having good torque for getting up hills...

Anyone dealt with Tech Direct Inc. LG Chem Modules

Since the copper bars are accessible shouldn't it be possible for me to charge this as two separate 8s packs with my hobby charger? I'd add two sets of 8s balance leads and a charging connector to cells 1-8 and another charging connector to cells 9-16.

Is this a proper Motor and ESC combo for my project?

Running weight will be under 400lbs with rider. Goals are at least 25mph top speed with the ability to also climb a 20 degree slope (so not giving up all my torque for top speed). I was told I would need ~7KW to accomplish this which I'm fine with. For batteries, I will use 14 24AH lithium...
