    My 60mph ebike build

I'm wondering about making one street legal myself. I would think it needs a v.i.n number in the US. I thought he meant converting a moped to electric at first. That would be easy to get road legal.

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

I messaged about the torque arms, but I don't think he has been on since October of last year. Maybe he'll answer.

    A2B battery help needed

What was your cost to rebuild the pack? A shop can rebuild it, but I'd try to learn how myself if it will save money.

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

It cleaned up well. I like the look of the frame myself. It seems like it would pretty nimble and quick with good tires and suspension. Should I put torque arms on it also? I've seen some online, but this one doesn't have them.

I'm researching tires right now also. Which ones did you go with? I'm thinking a moped tire would be best.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

I have a old a2b metro I'm rebuilding. I'd love to do a folding bike since my main use is campgrounds. But since I got the frame for free I'm going to work with it.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Trying not to hijack the thread, but my question is related to the topic. what would be a good motor for a 20" wheel? I want a good balance between speed and torque but I don't know the best turn to go with on a small 20" I'm thinking either a leaf or edge motor. 1500 watts in either 4 or 5 turn.

    4 or 5 turn for a 1500w leaf motor on a 20" Wheel?

I'm about to rebuild a a2b ultra motor/metro. I'm probably going to go with the 1500 watt leaf ebike kit from leaf motor. The main use will be for campgrounds and around my neighborhood. Around here there are some moderate hills but nothing really steep or long. I know with the smaller wheel...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

Would one of these kits work ok to start out? http://www.leafbike.com/products/diy-bike-conversion-kit/20-inch-electric-hub-motor-kit/c-13/page-1.html Also where is the best place to buy a leaf motor? That site is the only one I've found so far. I was just thinking that one of those kits...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

The motor is probably still good, I was just going to replace it while I have the bike apart. I like speed, I have a golf cart that I've hit 40mph on. My knowledge is more with golf cart motors and controllers. 48v of battery has to have a 48v controller. Could I just put 48v on the old...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

What kind of speed and range is possible with that set up? And if I get the internal battery rebuilt what's the most I could squeeze in there as far as amp hours? The guy at the bike shop said around 10-12 amp hours. They want to sell me a new bike but I'd like something more custom as far as...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

Should I just leave the internal battery out, and go with something removable on the rear? I ask because the bike will be stored in in my metal building workshop that isn't heated or cooled. It can get around 100 degrees F in the summer and around 30 in the winter. Will those conditions...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

Taking the battery out only took a few minutes. Luckily it had a cord around the battery, so it pulled right out. I read some of them could be pretty hard to get out.

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

I've got the motor and wheels off now. It's way lighter with just those off. A lighter motor and battery would make a difference I think. I have a lot more time than money, so I'm going to try to rebuild this one. And it's hard to justify that much for a campground bike. The parts are expensive...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

I went to the bike shop today and let them take a look at it. Around $800-900 to get it going with the original motor. Rebuild the battery, new tires, fix the throttle and clean it up. Probably get near 2,000 for a full rebuild. This shop is right in the city and the main business is ebikes...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

Thank you for the help, this is exactly what I'm looking for. There is a big bike shop about an hour from me, but I don't know if they do any custom type work on electrics. They do build batteries. I'll talk with them today about it. I could probably do the work myself as long as it's mainly...

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

I meant would the cost of fixing it exceed the value of it. Kinda like when they total a car. I don't really know if parts are available. I saw the stuff on la ebike but they don't show any parts as in stock. I did some searches, but couldn't really find what a current value would be on it.

Got an old A2B ultra motor for free. Is it worth fixing?

Hello. I'm new to electric bikes. The main use for us will be campgrounds. this bike was thrown in for free when I bought a like new pedego cruiser for $900. The a2b has sat for atleast a year. Im going to consider the batteries shot, and the tires are bad. He also said you have to tap on the...
