The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

Huge thanks Amber! It didn't fix my problem though, but I got to test the differen't FWs. I had v1.025 on it before and tried the v1.026 first. The amps started ramping up to set 4A and I thought it was ok, but after a few sec the voltage wobbling started and the amps cut off. I tried also the...

The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

I've had this issue for a while with the charger. It work like this: I connect the charger to a battery, select the right charge profile and Force start. The voltage reading starts fluctuating, but the amps reading doesn't ramp up and finally it says Pwr fault: Restart 36.2V, which I guess is a...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

Hmm, on a second thought, the amberwolf/fechter fix could come in handy if it turns out my current 3 BMS setups that are still soldered in circuit has a LVC hang-up. The two new BMS I have connectors to unplug if that happens. The BIG question is though: The two BMS that I completely removed...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

BlueSeas: Of course not. I had to make connectors on my BMS to easily unplug it, so in case you dont plan to use the Daly, don't bother. amberwolf: Ha,ha! It would be interesting to test your procedure, but from previous experience of how much energy those batteries contain, I'd rather not :D...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

BlueSeas, where did I write it fails permanently after one event? I wrote that 2 of them failed after 2-3 hangups, possibly 3-4. In any case you are not really helping here other than being suspicious to my claims. I wrote that I'm not the type that goes crazy on the forums to bash stuff that...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

Amberwolf, you are such a helpfull guy! Wow! Very nice of you to come up with suggestions although this particular BMS is hermetically sealed. I tried to find a way to open it, but gave up, and I doubt I find any reset optons inside either. These BMS looks the part, but at $25-35 are rather...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

Thanks guys for the input, but as I said 2 of the BMS are broken and it happened after LVC. I disconnected BMS and recharged battery, but not working when plugged in. The BMS is waterproof and has no buttons for reset or LEDs indicating a failure. As it was/is I couldn't charge battery with BMS...

10H over-temp error on new BBSHD controller

Well, the joy did not last long... On my first ride it behaved ok for about 10 km, but felt less powerful than previous controller. Then suddenly the motor stopped spinning. It recovered after reseting power, but felt even more gutless and had some small vibrations coming out of it like...

    Daly BMS LVC problem

Normaly if I get a failure on a device like a BMS, I would not publish it on a forum as it doesn't mean it's a bad product, and could give unfair bad publicity, but in this case I see this problem on 4 Daly BMS that I own, which makes me suspect it is a design issue rather than bad luck or...

10H over-temp error on new BBSHD controller

Finally managed to roll back FW version to ...413! Turns out one of the settings in the programming tool was set wrong. My assumtion about HW and FW incompatibility was correct as the error 10H disappeared and motor running again. The current limit was also back to 30A. Well done! :)

10H over-temp error on new BBSHD controller

Downloaded Bafang programming tool and read configuration. The new controller is HW v1.5 with FW v1.0.0.4. 48-52V 28A version. Assuming my original controller is v1.2-v1.3 the question is if the v1.5 is backwards compatible? Since the controller obviously is not overheated on power-on, the only...

10H over-temp error on new BBSHD controller

Recently I had to replace the controller on my 2017 BBSHD after a 12H error. Now I get a 10H error after turn-on, which is an over-temp error. I'm not sure if there is a temp sensor in the motor or if the new controller is not compatible with the old motor and how to get rid of the error. I have...

Adjusting cut-off voltage of EMC-120 charger from bmsbattery

Jumping in on this old thread as it covers my questions. I have a couple of these chargers I bought second hand with a motor kit. Both are 36V, but I run mainly 48V batteries. The box has tickmarks for 12-48V so I figured it might be a universal charger with adjustment of output V/I. I opened it...

    Winter cycling/battery charge-discharge strategy

In my case, I will not have access to plug in heater at work, and at home I can in cold days put it inside house or put some heating pads around it. It is hard to find some numbers at what temp one should not load battery. -10C is mentioned as a limit, but if your close to the limit, what...

    Winter cycling/battery charge-discharge strategy

Maybe not the right time of year for a question like this, but hard to wait a few months for answer that's been on my mind for some time already :) I have been riding a Bafang BBSHD throughout last winter commuting 45km each day, lowest temp about -7 deg C. The battery has been charged indoors...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

That is great news! Thanks for very quick reply, casainho! I will try it out when I have set up the bike with the motor. Will test with original firmware to make sure everything works in the first place and then reprogram it with OS firmware. Great effort of you guys from making stuff more...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

Bought a Q128C 500W with a S12SH 40A controller from BMSB about a month ago, but not used/tested it yet. Just realized from searching ES that this controller might be too powerful for Q128C. I admit I got the S12SN instead of the S12S (which is probably the right choice) because I thought it...

    Modify S06S controller to work on 13S 48V Li-Ion

Yeah, I guess getting a 48V model would be easiest, but I'll give it a try with upgrading transistors first as I already have the controllers, and I doubt you get quality FETs buying a $24 controller anyway. Thanks for info

    Modify S06S controller to work on 13S 48V Li-Ion

I have bought a couple of Q100 with S06S controllers from BMSB, that I would like to run on my 48V Li-Ion battery. It says DC24/36V so in order to make it work on 48V reliably, I need to make some mods. I know there are a few threads about modding the S06S on ES, but it is not 100% clear what...

    BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

Just received my welder. Looks very nice. No I'm gonna order battery from Hobbyking. Should I go for 60C or would 40C suffice? For capacity: How many welds approx on nickle strips will I get from a 4000mAh battery per charge?

How To, 50A BBSHD Controller Mod

Very interesting thread! At the moment I do not plan to modify it, but this thread gives valuable info about the internals of this controller and its limitations, so very much appreciated the efforts and risks you guys take for maxing the performance of BBSHD with the stock controller...
