Any other highway-capable maxi-scooters than ZEV?

Just like the subject line says. Looking for a 55+mph 50+mile and 350+ lb carrying capacity maxi scoot. I see a lot of "maybe soons" out there. But without going to a motorcycle like (somewhat expensive) Zero or the (really expensive) BMW there just is not a lot of 2-wheelers out there for...

BPM2 or Q128 conversion kit? (Copied from my post to Reddit)

I considered this. They are also selling them on Amazon. However I have not been able to get a response from them about if this is only 36V as listed, or can also run at 48V. At the moment I have (4) 6S 10Ah 22.2V lipo from the recent HK sale. I probably should have went for the 3 or 4S combos...

BPM2 or Q128 conversion kit? (Copied from my post to Reddit)

Thank you all, but we may be digressing a bit. As controllers are easily replaced why not concentrate on the motor itself? Is the BPM2 worth the extra cost?

BPM2 or Q128 conversion kit? (Copied from my post to Reddit)

Unfortunately that is about all that BMS lists on their website for information. I am inferring from the information they list that for the Q128 they are using their S-KU95 and for the BPM2 the S-KU125. I plan on using both the PAS and throttle. S-KU95...

BPM2 or Q128 conversion kit? (Copied from my post to Reddit)

One last question for everyone here. Planning on pulling the trigger on my conversion kit order from BMS Battery and cannot decide between the two. This is for a front-wheel application. I see Q128 comes with a 9 mosfet 450W controller and the BPM2 a 12 mosfet controller. Also the Q128 is listed...

    Q128C sources?

I laughed at that. I am one of the sacrilegious ones who lubes his motorcycle chain . . with WD40  . A spray and wipe every 100 miles or so.

    Q128C sources?

Soldering I know. Wiring I know. But the ebike tech? Still a newbie. I will take a look at the MXUS. Mainly theft. It is quite hard in my area to keep what is yours, yours. I have had everything from lawn mowers to 20oz bottles of soda stolen (thank you thief for the $400 to replace that car...

    Q128C sources?

Ah, gears. Good point. They are plastic from what I have seen. The good news is if I decide to buy a Q128 front for the kickbike and a Q128C for the Schwinn the replacement parts will be common. I assume you mean by buying an entire motor I can switch out the gears and stator as a unit if...

    Q128C sources?

Thank you for the recommendations. I am assuming the square-wave is the more generic SLA scooter/motorcycle/ebike type? The Q128C rear is now available built-up in two speeds. https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/769-q128c-135mm-500w-rear-driving-ebike-hub-motor-wheel-ebike-kit.html I was mainly...

    Q128C sources?

After some constructive comments on my planned build by motomech I am looking at using a built-wheel Q128C (hopefully as part of a conversion kit). Is BMS Battery the only source for such motors? First the wheels are not offered in a conversion kit. Second I am not thrilled on what I have been...

    12s charger or supply 50.4v cc/cv

I know the CLG-150-48A (150W) will go to 56V as that is what I am considering on my 12S build. Looks like the HLG-320H-48A goes to 52V? http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/260/HLG-320H-spec-226092.pdf

    Definative guide to generic controllers?

I plan on running my batteries between 3.7-4.05V. Probably 40% capacity to actually use? Combined with the fact this will be used for commuting I would like to (eventually) have at least enough capacity for one "oops, I forgot to charge it" 1.5 round trips (home-work-home-work). Not a priority...

    Definative guide to generic controllers?

Well, I already have a pretty decent feel for everything but figuring out about the controllers, but here I go. Desired max speed on level ground: >18mph. This is a commuter and "get healthy" build, not a speed machine. Desired max range at what cruising speed. 18-20 miles at anything over...

    Definative guide to generic controllers?

Interesting. I guess that makes sense as the cheap controllers are probably designed for use with SLA batteries instead of LIPO. I will take a look at your posts. I actually have (4) 10Ah 6S Multistar LIPOs on order. My intention is to create a 44.4V 20Ah pack. 2 parallel, then 2 series for ease...

    Definative guide to generic controllers?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. Is there a decent guide covering everything a person should/needs to know on the cookie-cutter generic ebike/scooter/moto motor controllers? Especially identifying and repairing common problems, common modifications/upgrades and wiring diagrams? For...

Need info 36V bottle battery installation

Are you sure the pack requires a spot welder? It almost appears that it is designed to just rely on the metal-to-metal contact (like a battery holder). Slightly scary. So it looks like it holds 14P, but how do they get enough in series for 36V? AT MOST I count 8 possible in series, probably 7?

Where does everyone buy their connectors/wiring?

Thank you all. Guess I will take the chance on eBay and ali. Luna does have some of the connectors I am looking for but would also like to find some with the pigtails already soldered in place/etc. That being said I am planning on buying a charger from them so why not throw some of the other...

Where does everyone buy their connectors/wiring?

Specifically the XT90s. I would prefer to find a supplier of, if not necessarily "original manufaacturer", decent quality connectors. While Hobbyking has a decent variety listed for a great price most of what I require are either backordered or just "out of stock". Anyone have a preferred Ali...

Source for 16" front-wheel hub kits?

The kick scooter I plan on experimenting with has reviews that the deck is a little too high. I may try using a 14" rear and 24" front instead to fix that. Given the shipping costs I see on many of these sites adding a second hub/wheel set makes sense, even if I do not plan on powering the front...

Source for 16" front-wheel hub kits?

Thank you but no need. If I buy components I will take it to the LBS for assembly. I know my skill set and building one up from bits and pieces is not in it.

Source for 16" front-wheel hub kits?

Actually I am considering building this into a "kick scooter" with 26" front and 16" rear. So it will actually be in the rear. Just not geared. Thank you for your concern. Technically I would guess anything above 350w would be sufficient.

Source for 16" front-wheel hub kits?

Sorry if this was discussed elsewhere. My search-fu was lacking. I am looking for one of those less-expensive no-name 1000w hub/wheel "conversion kits" in 16" (front wheel, no cassette). Does anyone carry them? Thank you.
