    Lowrider eBike project

Have addressed the rear brake issue completely now and thats gone from the weakest to probs the strongest part of the bike, following E-HP idea about the half pipe I got a 1/2" x 8" galvanised steel connector pipe used for plumbing from Home Depot and went to work turning that into a...

    Lowrider eBike project

Been away for a bit with Christmas and all that but back at the bike now. So ive gone from the bafang crank arms 170mm to 100mm unicycle crank arms to give me more clearance and they look like they are going to be a lot better for rideability. Bafang crank arms 100mm unicycle crank arms...

    Lowrider eBike project

Congrats! Yeah I haven't seen a 20" lowrider style bike with a motor before so fancied giving it a go! Stay tuned as going to be swapping the crank over soon as the ground clearance isn't enough with the 170mm Bafang cranks

Could you explain this a little more? Just trying to work out where you mean, the disc brake mount is a lot more solid than the cheap one I was using before but would like to strengthen then frame as much as possible as well

    Lowrider eBike project

I was surprised how hard it was to bend back so there is still quite a bit of strength there I recon and now I haven't got the brake pressure on it it should be ok but if not I can just get a new one. The bend is to far up to be able to cut it and still make the adjustment holes, we will see how...

Yeah if it goes now it will be the frame bending so lets hope that doesn't happen  Have bent the sissy bar back and will give that a go and picked up a second hand straight rotor today.

Looks like I might be back in the game and stronger than every! I already had one of these adaptors https://www.bicycledesigner.com/bike-parts/bicycle-brake/springer-fork-disc-brake-bracket.html to fit the front brake on but just thought I would see if it would fit the back and it seems to fit...

    Lowrider eBike project

Yeah is kinda funny, just wish I had a way I knew I could improve it, been looking at either getting a a2z adaptor and modifying it or using the same one I've got on the front and trying to make it fit on the back. The sissy bar is going to get in the way of either I recon though

    Should I fuse my battery?

So if im running 48v with 750 watt motor thats 15.68a, I would be better off getting a 20a circuit breaker over a 15a wouldn't I?

    Should I fuse my battery?

Just built a 48v battery and just wondering if I should put a fuse in line just after the battery and if so what fuse? Thanks

Wirings pretty much done, would it be worth my chucking an inline fuse between the battery connector? If so what fuse would you go for?

Small update, I went for a battery off Alibaba in the end as I couldn't resist the 105 CAD price tag. So far very impressed! battery come extremely fast and packaged well. Should be able to get it in and running in the next couple of days so we will see how it performs.

    Lowrider eBike project

I would make the battery myself, I just don't really want to invest in a spot welder i'm going to use one. Do you know of any company's that make some kind of clip together system or something that doesn't cost the earth? Wonder if this would fit in my box...

    Confusing battery info

Im going to start off with saying I know for this price this battery is going to be terrible but I just want it for now to get my project off the ground. My question is in the title it says its a 48v 1000watt battery but then goes on to say its for a 54.6v ebike. Ive got a bbs02B 48v 750watt...

    Lowrider eBike project

So having a little trouble trying to work this out, I got this front light with 3 "ultra light" led's in it. The advert says 2 aa battery but in fact it takes 4 aaa batteries so that would work out at 6v but not sure what current would be. It looks like I should be able to get a replacement led...

    Lowrider eBike project

I need to check if my front light is 12v or 6v but as long as i had them at the same voltage (either both at 12 or 6) and the appropriate step down converter would this circuit work?
