1989 Kawasaki EX500 (Ninja) - EV conversion, finished but still refining

Sorry, I'm a bozo! I looked again and it's just the tail end of the swingarm itself. For some reason last night (no drinks I swear) it looked like there was a notch in the spacer, think it's because I was looking at it zoomed in. I added some red lines to illustrate. Top lines had me thinking it...

1989 Kawasaki EX500 (Ninja) - EV conversion, finished but still refining

I'm thinking about a build similar to yours and I was wondering if you could tell me a little about the hub motor installation... Where is the disc and caliper bracket from? Was the method to basically measure the overall width of the OEM wheel with OEM wheel spacers and then modify your hub...

    VFR400 20kw Build

Love the minimalism. What is the distance between frame rails at the top where the subframe mounts? Or asked another way, what is the OD of your battery case? Also, what motor is that?

    Stealth P7-R

I'll most likely be looking to build my own contraption, but it seems like a great bike at an awesome price! Maybe any legwork you can do in advance to get the shipment sorted out will help, like a quote to either NY or CA, so folks know it shouldn't cost more than $xxx to ship within the lower...

Dozens of pallets of new LFP cells from ESS bankruptcy - SOLD

I think @Zambam was using them in 1S configuration in a scooter for a short period and getting 2C out of them during short hill climbs.

Dozens of pallets of new LFP cells from ESS bankruptcy - SOLD

I have a bunch of these too. They solder really well. Freight would be around $400.

Launching the Kit Version of the Ride Colibri M22 E-Motorcycle

I apologize if this is inappropriate and will delete/edit if it is, but something that would be really nice, would be just a frame kit built to be able to utilize Japanese parts that you could buy on eBay, maybe something that were made to work with CRF250/450 swingarm, shock and forks. That way...

Will i have too little current for weld ?

Kcap uses six of these 350f caps, presumably in series: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Maxwell-Technologies/BCAP0310-P270-T10?qs=SLym9Mzz6zMc%2F3fLmVtwzA%3D%3D

    Tabless design cylindrical cells tests

For those wanting to try something within the US, there is also this: https://www.fdjtool.com/spcu-copper-paste-solder-1-2oz.html But, it doesn't appear to have the tin and nickel that's found in the Glitter version: https://glitterwelder.com/u-s-solid-copper-welding-paste-flux-40g/ In my...

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

The search result shows it's in Canadian dollars, which would roughly make sense to the pricing from Germany, but then when I add it to cart, it shows $249 in USD, so I have no clue what the deal is with the pricing. I'll be looking around to see what else is out there.

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

The Kweld will trip at 2000A, but I also think that might not be entirely easy to get to the max 2000A from it. I think I've read that with a good battery, it's pretty easy to get ~1500A, which means the Kweld should easily be able to hit 700A, likely double that. I had one years ago and ended...

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

Correct, 10% was too high and caused that little pit in the cell as seen in the last pic. I'm not sure what exactly the number represents. The manual lists the power setting as "Energy Grade" and then the numbers are listed with a "t", so what I've been calling 40%, is really 40t in the...

    Tabless design cylindrical cells tests

Love that rosin paste for dipping, but it was in reference to the type of flux you tried with spot welding. Do you remember what kind it was?

    Tabless design cylindrical cells tests

Did you find that using flux significantly reduced the power needed? And the flux didn't help with spot welding the copper directly?

2 Dewalt DCB210 20V Max 10Ah batteries powering my eBike.

It seems like they're matched okay for your motor. Found a chart here and it looks like the batteries are good for 25A continuous, which should be 1000 watts between the two packs and the motor is about 800 watts max? That's an hour at full throttle, little hard on the batteries and it's only...

3D printing 21700 holders with petg?

White seems to be pretty important component to the formula, maybe there's some variability there? Also, anyone in the RC airplane world has been digging hot glue nonstop for decades.

3D printing 21700 holders with petg?

I'd buy holders because it's convenient and they're pretty cheap, but with 3DP parts if the pack is built well with layers of fiber tape and cushion around it, it's probably not coming apart. If it did, it'd probably be a scenario where the entire bike is essentially garbage.

"Copper/nickel sandwich" buses for series connections

TLDR: I think folks may find some success spot welding copper strip directly to 18650's with copper flux. Glitter sells some and I've found some domestically at FDJ Tool. They both seem to work equally in the limited testing that I've done. I hope you guys can try it on your own and post the...

18650 and 21700 4-wire Cell Holders for Cell Testing

I came across these while looking for a charging solution for my 33140 LifePo4 cells and contacted A2D to inquire about modifying the design for my larger cells, which they were kind enough to remodel the 3DP version, so I ordered a couple. Just wanted to post here to say they were great to...

Overcharging cells at 3.4V per cell

The author says that 3.4V is enough to obtain near 100% capacity, but that limiting voltage isn't enough to prevent overcharging without also compromising charging. By definition, overcharging is when max capacity has been reached, but the battery is still being charged, so I'm curious how you...
