    Has anybody done this? Rely on the hub 100% for locomotion while converting the pedaling to power a generator which could be used to charge the battery pack?

    Well, it fell far short of my goal, I did about 11 miles on the new batteries and then I had to pedal home on my own power -- not an easy task on this heavy one-speed. I think I'm going to go for a larger front sprocket, I'll take your advice otherDOC and go for 52 teeth.

    Has anybody bought a battery back from Golden Motor? If so, how has it worked out for you? It seems to be a good value from the comparisons I've done. Also, does anybody know a good source for Nicad packs and chargers?
