Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Today I have actually opened up the motor and replaced the blue gear just to be sure it wasn't the cause. I have used the original for about 5 years so it's about time. Sadly I didn't quite get to test the bike uphill, but it hasn't shut down in the quick run that I made on straight road. The...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into it. I'm still thinking of checking inside the motor first , just in case there's some hardened grease or any other unexpected troubles. I have a "backup" battery, which is from another bike and might be possible to repurpose for mine. The issue is I...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I see. I was hoping it wouldn't be because of the battery.. It just started happening so suddenly. Alright. Thanks. I solved the sensor problem now, but not the power drop. I didn't know the battery issue can manifest itself in such a way. The capacity was quite low from beginning , 36v, 12...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Hello. It's been a while since I posted here. So I've been using open source for about 2 years and it's been great. However lately I began experiencing some issues. When the battery is about half way discharged and I have to go uphill, the motor would suddenly shut down. If I try to push pedals...

And btw issue with the throttle wasnt fixed no matter if I changed optionbyte or not. I dont think it depends on that in my case. Ill try to report the issue to github.

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Hi, Thank you for the detailed explanation. I was just about to test it, but then I discovered that my brass gear has nearly shattered inside... It appears that lithium grease has hardened due to low temperatures in the winter (we get down to -25C). Or maybe it got overheated from high power...

I havent set any values about the optionbyte, because there was no such option in the Java configurator. Now Ive read about the optionbyte thing , is there an easy way to reset it to 0028 ?

I am also still waiting for somebody to clarify about the bug on the no throttle motors. Using Mbrusa firmware https://github.com/emmebrusa/TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1 Why is it when I solder throttle wires to the controller and try to connect my own throttle, then it works how it should for a few...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Guys, so I have tried to do something unusual today. I attempted to install a throttle onto the motor that came without it. I read that the controllers are all the same, just the wires for throttle are missing. Using guide for installing temp sensor, I simply soldered the wires to the motor...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

This thread... Could somebody please fix the assist level 3 in maroq's version? The only issue I've had with his last release is that the engine activates itself when going downhill.

When you put stock firmware, did you change the openbyte to 28 ?

Btw was 255 steps supposed to show on the screen ? At least In vlcd5 it only showed 32 like before.

I just realized this, Marcoq's github repo still has a bug with switching levels, does it not? So I thought i'd just look into Ackmaniac's archive and find the file where he fixed that. It's in the folder Src/controller/ named "ebike_app.c" So I replaced marcoq's file with his... and my bike...

I probably don't understand how github works either so I never saw that wiki. :D It does help now :thumb:

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

You have a point. Ok, I don't know the specifics of who developed what. I am just seeing it from a passerby's point of view and how much of a headache finding correct info might feel. It sure takes a while to get the bearings and grasp the basics. But I'd argue that the names of the four levels...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Alright. So turns out the previous firmware made by Marcoq, which is 0.19c, actually works quite well and I can notice the bike got a bit more powerful now. My goal was to get maximum assist and minimal pedaling effort. I mostly use Turbo and it's definitely gotten better than with stock...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Hi, My motor is 36v 350W (claimed by the manufacturer). Battery is 36v, 12ah. I used Ackmaniac's version as he fixed the bug for power assist level 3. Here are the last settings I used . Btw I have no idea how many battery cells I have. It's not written anywhere. I already flashed the...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

After flashing with different settings all I got is that my motor got so weak that I can't even ride it anymore. I think I'll stick to stock firmware. Hopefully it will return everything back to defaults.

Does throttle work in your firmware or is it for temp sensor only ? I have neither. But planning to install throttle soon.

Is Ackmaniac's update meant for 36v motors? I am a bit hesitant to try in case there's some type of a bug again that might fry the circuits

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Guys, I have read this whole thread and I am going to soon try to flash my controller as well. However my goal is clear - to squeeze out as much power and assist as possible with as little pedaling effort as possible (in fact I would prefer no torque dependence at all ) and no overheating. I...
