    Linear Tech 12-cell battery monitor/BMS

I've received a DC1331 demo board and 590 interface. Has anyone be able to get their hands on the GUI software yet? Thanks. Bill Dennis

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

The BXB150's spec is 150W (5V at 30A). But I've read doc's comments here that they will supply 39A at a lower voltage. Why is that? I thought that the limiting would be on amps, not on watts. Are they really limiting the watts? If they're limiting on amps, I'd expect them to regulate to...

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

What does the Case pin ground? Do I just leave it unconnected? Thanks. Bill

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

Undervoltage detection: I currently have a LM431 with its Ref pin tied directly to cell positive. When the cell drops below 2.5V, the LM431 turns off, which allows current to flow through an opto. The opto outputs from all cells are paralleled, illuminating a red LED on the dash when one or...

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

Another question. Based on the pictures that doc posted, it looks like the heat sink on the bottom is electrically isolated from the DC/DC, is that also correct? I'm thinking about attaching all of the converters to one big sheet of of 1/8-inch aluminum, and then bolting that sheet to the...

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

I just received my BXB150 for testing. This is the FLT model, which I believe means that the RC pin is active low. So to turn on the unit, I connect the RC pin to the input's minus, and to turn off the unit I leave the RC pin unconnected. Is that correct? Thanks. Bill

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

Luke, No lead yet, just the 290Ah of ThunderSky lithium cells mentioned in my first post. Top speed is 90mph. Cruising at 60 mph draws 100A. Averaging around 225 Wh/mile. Cells currently getting too hot on extended commutes though (50 degrees C), so I'm going to have to install some type...

    [EVDL] Electric Bike Advice

Thanks for all the advice. I've been doing some research. In Utah, the law limits electric bikes to 1000W and 20 mph. so I'm thinking a 36V 35A controller with a 1000W Crystalyte motor on a 20- or 26-inch. My question is this: does the motorized wheel go on the front or the back? Thanks...

    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

I made an offer at http://www.hkyixin.net for 80 BXB150-48S05FLT units at $10 per unit, and the offer was accepted. Maybe I should have gone lower. Anyone here still interested? Perhaps we could group buy more units for a lower price. I'm located in the USA, and I'd be happy to forward units...

    [EVDL] Electric Bike Advice

Hi, guys. Bill Dennis here. Lock pointed me to the forum from the EVDL. Thanks for taking up my cause. The climb is paved and fairly consistent, though it does end with a steeper 1.5 miles at the end. In fact, I'm still working on tweaking my recently completed electric car to make it up...
