I dont think there is a difference. Ive had to Chinese batteries, 48 x 15, 36 x 12 for three years. Not a problem. Not long ago the fuse blew in one when it was charging and we had a power outage. I guess when the power came back on, ther ewas a surge and it did its job and saved me hundreds...
Ok well after much stuffing around and a move interstate, some meaningful stats.
On country roads, up 450m and down 450m then back again I can report that the battery and leafbike motor can go
65k at an average speed of 30kph using pedal assist number 2 and sometimes 3.
The gearing is 52/11...
Well mate it turns out the battery had a crimped wire, so had to wait for a replacement to arrive, it has so all good there.
When that arrived, the second test run, the rear marathon plus tour tyre shit itself. The bead was crimped when I got it, and where it was bent it failed. The slime tube...
Thanks for the input. When I got this battery, it was loose in an Austpost satchell, not even bubble wrap so I KNEW it would be trouble. When I moved the battery, the guts was loose in the case. The replacement has arrived, this time it was packed correctly and is not loose in the case. I...
Thanks mate, I am sending it back for a replacement.
Charger shuts off, so I cant leave it on overnight.
He doesnt want me opening the case to check for a blown fuse.
Only thing of note is that its a 48v 17ah battery and the LCD display yesterday indicated it was running at 52v.
I am willing to...
Forget it, bloke next door checked with his meter too, dead as a door nail.
I blame the sender, who sent the bloody thing in a plastic bag, no packing at all, not even bubble wrap.
I told him at the time that he was a fool for doing so.
posted when you posted the msg above, thanks anyway.
Hmm I can get a 1.5v battery to read 1.5 volts on my meter, the bike battery best I can do is under DC 200m, it reads .6, cant get anythng at all to come up under any other setting. Is this a dead battery? POF is about 11/10 atm grr.
I built the Leafbike yesterday, worked fine, this morning dead.
Any ideas folks? battery is charged, checked all wiring, but the LCD003 is dead, wont turn on.

ITS ALIVE! :bigthumb:
I need to do some cable management and mount the battery, but it works.
I put the battery in a backpack, took it for a spin. Definitely has some grunt but sat on 20 barely touched the throttle
I wont ramp it up till its all done.
One thing I noticed, the back brake does...
Well after a break, I paid someone to solder wires, add anderson plugs. It was easier for me to pay someone $20 to join and solder and wrap connection for the battery and add plugs.
So now all that is left to do is slight modification to where the battery will sit.
Connect the dots, put...
Yes I hear ya, I know what you mean.
I am torn between making it look new and sticking old cable housings etc on it to make it looki less desirable to tea leaves.
Its a very moot point, if you make something look what it is worth, it stands out.
When its finished, I guess replacement value...
I found my Bicycle Boot. Bluey invented these boots, made of fibreglass with a hinged lockable lid designed to hold
12 cans of soft drink with ice.
It sits perfectly on a pack rack, is an aero design and as solid as you can get.
A man before his time was Bluey.
I am thinking about putting my...
I have spent a lot of time trying to remove the decals from the frame.
My my, eucy oil, petrol, heat, wd40, hot water, you name it, very stubborn.
finally got em off, touching up the frame with spray gloss enamel.
Been sick, but very close.
Heres the general idea. The juice container has enough room to shove all the cable connections up through the hole in the lid whilst still having room for air. It will be simple enough to stick a thermometer in the container and maybe a lil solar micro fan or two. Should be pretty waterproof and...
Silly me I thought posting in ebike technical, it would be a given that I was talking about an electric bike.
More fool me for thinking that when I said no cones, I would be believed.
Dont blame me for people going off on tangents, pretending to know what they dont know.
Can anyone see a problem with this arrangement?
On the drive side, from the inside out I have a nut on the outside of the cassette by a few mm acting as a stop.
Then I have the silver torque washer, no it wont make a difference if I flatten the tab, then is the drop out
attached to it is a...
Got the right cassette, the games can begin.
I have all parts now so can play lock washer fun with the back wheel, get it upright, fit the cockpit.
Run the wires, do the connections and see wheres best for the controller to go.
Downtube, on top of rear rack, seat tube.... we will see.
Oh ye of little faith. Youve gone off too soon. Just because you dont know doesnt mean all the users of the forum are ignorant on the subject.
What I have discovererd here is a gap in the knowledge base of wheel building. All rear hubs are shipped with this nut, its simply for sitting almost...
