Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Yes you can contact my embassy in China for this. I'm from Belgium. The COC (Certificate of Conformity) will be the same for all countries in the EU, so if you do this once it should be good for all european customers. I would be interested in the AM1000 registered as a speed pedelec.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Do any of the Frey bikes come with COC? So they can be ridden legally in Europe?

European regulations e-bikes COC Certificate of Conformity

I had already read most of those topics, no answer. Are there just no manufacturers outside EU providing COC with their e-bikes?

European regulations e-bikes COC Certificate of Conformity

In EU there are two e-bike classifications: Pedelec: 250W 25kmh max Speed Pedelec: 4000W 45kmh max To have a a speed Pedelec (SP) road legal you need to get insurance and a numberplate. In order to get this you need to adhere to some technical regulations which are easily added to any bike...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

No I don't have one or I would've dug into it already! And you can't order the dual side motor, it doesn't exist. It seems like it's a one of a kind made by cyclone, and I'm trying to figure out how difficult it is to convert the right drive to dual drive... Good info on the hubs and dropout...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

I asked Paco and he replied: When I asked him "if there is a counter-clockwise freewheel I can buy that will fit? Why can I not turn the clockwise freewheel around? Is it welded? I can cut and weld. If you have pictures of the freewheel and gearbox parts I could see if I can modify it...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

Are there pictures or a video online of the motor internal parts and assembly? Agreed, in stock form it won't, however if you reverse the motor freewheel the motor would in fact start driving the square taper crank axle when turning counterclockwise. That's why the crank freewheel must be...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

That's exactly what I meant in my previous post, add a square taper crankset on the right side. Great info I didn't realize there were two freewheels yet. Yes that is correct, the freewheel inside the motor needs to be reversed so you can pedal without the motor and gearbox turning. This means...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

I researched this issue some more and I think I have it figured out. Hear me out and correct me if I'm wrong: You can in fact use the normal Coaxial motor, but the freewheel inside the motor must be disabled (not reversed like Paco suggested). The pedal axle should have nothing to do with the...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

I see. Swapping the belt for a heavy duty chain is something I would've done anyway for affroading durability, so no skin off my back there. I just asked Paco and he said the new dual drive motor is in fact the same motor "just the gear box’s freewheel put reverse" I asked if that means I can...

How good is Cyclone 4kw coaxial suspension bike?

I just mailed Paco and asked him if the new dual drive motor can be used in the elite frame, he said it can not. Has anyone actually tried this? As Tommm said you'd probably need a wider rear triangle. But exactly how wide if you want a 9 speed cassette on the right side. Why would Paco say...
