    One more thing, I actually bought a spare motor from Dengfu just to make sure I can still ride if this happens again. But to be honest, most of the issues are with the controller so having a spare of that would probably be all that's needed.

    Yes I got the controller free straight from Bafang. I emailed ygd@bafang-e.com and he's so far responsive. The instructions given were the same as that that is already posted regarding calibrating using the BESST tool.

    Yeah did that a couple of times (removing the battery) and it still turns on by itself then gets the same error. I can check the firmware for one of the as the other is kaput right now.

    I've seen posts about the motor having a thermal limiter. Do you guys have any documentation regarding that? I live in the Philippines and weather here is 90F minimum almost all year round so I usually experience the motor power surging when doing extended steep climbs.

    Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

    Throttle is connected to the 2 prong main wire that connects directly to the motor (the other wire goes to the display). No splicing needed as everything is plug and play. Similary setup to you, Dengfu E-09 with the M600 but with their in house battery.

    Yeah, quite bothersome especially on sustained climbs. I notice it happens though when my battery level is below 60%. I'm thinking it maybe a bit related to the reduced voltage on a half-drained battery. Will try to isolate this more and ask Bafang about it.

    Anyone ever had an issue where the motor is throttling down (providing less assist) even at PAS 5 on a sustained steep climb. Happened to me today and using the display, it shows that the motor is only giving 400w instead of the usuall 600+w.

    That's exactly how it is to do it. Just made one minor mistake on my part (plugged the 5.5mm lead back to the battery after unplugging it) and the whole charger went kaput. Now only outputs 26V instead of 54.6V.

    Thanks for that. I was also wondering what charger do you use? The supplied charger from Dengfu crapped out on me when I unplugged and plugged it from the battery while charging (I didn't know there was a protocol on how the connection and disconnection was done).
