Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

Thanks neptronix, We tried all 6 wiring combinations for the 3 motor power wires, no change in behavior was noted when the wheel spun (whether in forward or reverse), it always turned off quickly. It makes sense that you think using lead acid batteries with this controller is a mistake...

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

We reset it to factory defaults then changed C12 to the lowest V, IIRC it was setting 0, -2V below default, the bike runs a little and stops. I think the controller is defective, the last controller worked great. I'm trying to return it. NOTE: I opened a return request with PayPal, then read...

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

Thank you very much for that, that is FAR more detailed than the paperwork that came with the controller! We'll adjust C12 and see what happens!

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

The speedometer doesn't show any change when the wheel rotates, I thought that was because there were no Hall sensors. Do you know if it should show some sort of speed display anyway? The controller is supposed to be 36V/48V and there doesn't appear to be a way to change the display to select...

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

I'll think of a way to measure that. I think I have a hefty ceramic low resistance resistor somewhere that I can measure the V drop across while it's in series with the controller current, if I can find that I can do that test.

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

We have 3 12V batteries in series, they're pretty hefty, not as big as car batteries but bigger than many motorcycle batteries. I don't think they have a built in BMS. I'll measure the battery voltage with the wheel on the ground and see if I can watch it, the trouble is the bike goes forward...

Bike runs for 1' then motor cuts out

My neighbor had a great running ebike that ran on 36V, the controller died, so we bought a controller from AliBaba that we were told would work without hall sensors, just hook up the batteries, display/controlelr, and throttle and it should run without any of the other wires connected. We got...

WANTED: 36V brushless sensorless controller with throttle and display (no PAS, regen braking, lights etc)

I found someone to answer my questions after emailing literally 10 sellers, the pages are often sparse on details, I recommend anyone who uses AliBaba write specifically what you are looking for so you get a confirmation on their messaging system that they are selling you what you're asking for...

WANTED: 36V brushless sensorless controller with throttle and display (no PAS, regen braking, lights etc)

I'll give it a try, thanks. I emailed several controller sellers and didn't have any luck but I'll keep at it.

WANTED: 36V brushless sensorless controller with throttle and display (no PAS, regen braking, lights etc)

Hi, We need a controller, throttle and optional charge display. 36V brushless sensorless controller (no PAS, no Hall sensors, no regen braking, lights etc.) 500W min, 1kW preferred but not necessary. Can anyone recommend a kit? Thanks, Mike

    ebike motor, how to identify

1kW if possible, 500W minimum. it had pretty good torque before with 500W

    ebike motor, how to identify

If I can find one I will definitely recommend it to the owner. A 200lb person with a few baqs of groceries going up hill would surely appreciate it. It's sometimes difficult seeing exactly what the Alibaba sellers are offering. If you can recommend a 1kW 36V brushless sensorless controller...

    ebike motor, how to identify

SOLVED: ebikekit replied it's 500W So we need 36V 500W+ sensorless brushless 3 wire DC controller. Thanks to everyone who replied!

    ebike motor, how to identify

Yup, a heavy person with a couple bags of groceries going up a hill might benefit from that extra bit of power. Do you guys think 500W is sufficient for that? Should we go to 750W or 1000W?

    ebike motor, how to identify

Is it true that a 500W controller would run hot if someone used 100% of the throttle on it for any length of time, risking damaging it from overheating? I thought getting a higher Watt rating than would normally be used would allow the controller to loaf most of its life and run cool. Is that...

    ebike motor, how to identify

It sounded too good to be true but we'll give it a try. What wattage should we go with minimum? Do you think 500W is enough? Thanks!

    ebike motor, how to identify

We have an eBike with a dead controller. It ran on 36V and the motor has 3 wires. I found controllers on eBay that have 3 motor control wires, but they have Hall sensor wires as well. I read that some ebike motors have Hall sensors but not all. The controller had what looked like a 2009 date...
