Anyone know what the difference is between the 72V and 96V version? except it costs more...

    Increase voltage

Ah, maybe i could keep the voltage of the system and go for higher amps, just a bit worried about the cables ampacity. it would also let me keep more parts of the "old" 72V system, so less of an investment. I don't really know what controller i have in it, it's a noname brand and it say "150A"...

    Increase voltage

Need a little help here to decide in what way to go. I got an E-motorcycle (10kw 15kw peak). Current: 72V (84V max) 150A controller (peak 200A) current top speed 135km/h Building a new battery with 100-150% inc capacity. New controller. *Stay with 72V system? Increase Amperes. Maybe 200A...

    Kelly KLS7218 or KLS4812

yeah that is the question, i just got my bms:s and i am just waiting for nickle strip and shrink wraps now. i still haven't decided. i mean a kelly 7218 (from what i can see in videos) provides more than enough acceleration for my needs, but just becuase it works doesn't mean it is the best...

    Kelly KLS7218 or KLS4812

trying to decide what controller to get. Initial plan: 72V about 50-60A cont. future upgrade 72V 100+A Would it make sense to go with the 7218 at start and limit it a lot lower to fit the initial project, or is it better to get the lower performing model and push it harder and get the other...

    Super soco TC max

Super soco TC max, anyone got any experience? Due to law and regulations it is rather time consuming and hard to register your own electric motorcycle in sweden. The super soco tc max is an road legal bike here so it's an easier option when it comes to paperwork and tuning is allowed as long...

Amount of cells? many or few

I mean i am taking a part a lot of cells atm and how hard they are welded to the nickel and how hard it is to remove them i am pretty confident that they will survive a lot of vibrations

Amount of cells? many or few

Ah i see, so if i use this holder my only shoot to get more amp is to increase the thickness due to this "stupid" limitation then

Amount of cells? many or few

I am not sure if i did give the information about how the nickle plate is looking like, if u see in the picture that's the only way i can fit the nickle strip, i just tried to put it at 60degree in the cell holder and it is to narrow to fit the 8mm part, i can only put the 8mm in a straight row...

Amount of cells? many or few

nice pack flippy! So in that regards the 8mm that connect the paralell is kinda "pointless", it would have been much better using 6mm to connect the paralell and 8mm to connect the series right? and the parellel u have sticking out - is where u connect the bms leads?

Amount of cells? many or few

Okay, will continue on this thread. i did read some on nickle strip carrying Amps. i found this thred on here where someone called Matador posted a nice chart of Matador's Conductor Strips Ampacity Charts (conservative values, which is good, more safety margin). So this nickle strip i got is...

    What bms?

Okay, so i did order some stuffs and my order arrived strange. I got doublettes of some things i did order but this bms i ordered was not, i got 2 different ones. I ordered a 3S 20A bms and i got this. Easy to identify as a 3S bms, everything makes sense and nice text on the posterior...

Amount of cells? many or few

I am planning to convert this I have one with a broken engine with very low milage on it, just 2600km on it so practically brand new in that sense but i am still debating with myself on how much i should spend on it, first of all i will try the things i got at home to make it run, and then i...

Amount of cells? many or few

yeah LiFePO4 is rumored to be safer. do you think that it's reasonable that the cells i linked: https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/li-ion/18650-size/jgne-18650-1100mah-33a-lifepo4.html LiFePO4: 1100mah 33A discharge rate and "pulse load" 40A /10 seconds. Is it reasonable? or is it scam values...

Amount of cells? many or few

Yeah there are options out there. i am just having trouble believeing what i am reading. I found this site thanks to this forum, battery prices are not too bad, i bet you can find better thou. https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/li-ion/18650-size/sanyo-ur18650sa-1200mah-18a.html I could do with...

Amount of cells? many or few

ah i see ianhill. yeah i guess i'll need to test a few of them. but for a more serious build i am looking at buying brand new cells. but wow it's a jungle out there when it comes to prices of what u get. 18650 20700 21700 so many to choose from, and i don't know what to get really. I want to...

    Electric motor - what voltage?

oh my lord, the motor is spinning  Got it today and just connected it up by the wiering diagram that was provided with it, connected it to my psu at 60V (max 8.7A) and just let the throttle twist a little and it was spinning nicely. didn't wanna test it more than a few spins. I am not...

    Electric motor - what voltage?

damnit, i have some 8mm wire laying around. and something thicker that say 4awg. so i need to get myself some slimmer wires then i suppose or find some larger connectors

    Electric motor - what voltage?

okay, if i understand it correctly the 8mm^2 cable have a limit of around 40A carrying, and the XT90 have a limit of 90A, so if i carry the current with 2 of those cables the cables will be limited to 80A and the connector to 90A :? am i right?

    Electric motor - what voltage?

Question* Can i use an XT90 connector (or anything similar) as an AWG "ampliffier", put 2 cables in paralell. like i have one 8mm^2 cable, and i run 2 cables into that XT90 with same polarity to get similar as an 16mm^2 amp carry capacity ?

    Electric motor - what voltage?

okay is that reasonable numbers at that speed? is 3kw enough to get to 70km/h ? i mean the pros is that i can change gearing like the old times. speaking of different gearing, another rather important question - how do the electric motor react to a heavier gearing for more speed and less...

Amount of cells? many or few

Question related to the FST cells mentioned a lot lot earlier in the thread. I try to find information and test about them. maybe i need to test them myself also. but when it comes to discharging them how should i read the information? 0.5C 100% (of mah capacity) ~1A 1C 95% 2C 90% 3C 90% rated...

    Electric motor - what voltage?

As always fatty, i am overthinking stuffs and worry too much i think :P I know the bike was build to handle some decent power, but when it comes to electric my brain tells me that there is a lot more torque all the time, that 2stroke engine doesn't give maximal torque from start etc. Still...

    Electric motor - what voltage?

Than i have that dilemma on voltage. make a pack that can go to 90V and charge it lesser for the chinease pack (i am afraid i will forget it at some point thou and maybe charge it too much, or if i set the bms (bt bms) to a lower max voltage to protect the weak components. but yes, i am happy...

    Electric motor - what voltage?

I guess this will be the same journey for me informationwize as it was with understanding batteries. I am reading more and more. So the motor is just simply a motor, and the controller is basically just (just and "just") control the amount of current and voltage that is going to be delivered to...
