New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've got intermittent power on a TSDZ2 - it'll go on and off during the ride. Anything obvious to look for? The display stays on and doesn't show any signs power has been disturbed. Background... I Just assembled a TSDZ2 using the controller from one with a slipping crank* into an otherwise...

Bafang 850C color LCD, currently working for TSDZ2 motor -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I got a new TSDZ2, thinking I'll try and fix the one I've got and put on another bike - flash with the same versions and still nothing. Doing this last night I notice there's another version released; try that and it works first time!

Bafang 850C color LCD, currently working for TSDZ2 motor -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

Thanks - I was definitely using the two latest versions of the firmware. I suspect the problem is with the motor controller, though why it previously worked with the XH18 display is another matter! The following is the voltages I measured from each wire coming from the motor controller vs what...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

If I disconnect the brown cable, the display it's self works correctly. However motor still doesn't work. Motor worked fine when I took the XH18 off - unfortunately now leant to a friend, so can't put it back on to try. The brown cable is listed as "UART TX motor controller", but I'm getting...

Bafang 850C color LCD, currently working for TSDZ2 motor -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

Yes. I started with the latest version of the firmware on motor and 850 screen and the screen correctly reports back the version for it's firmware. Also tried an older version of the custom firmware on both and the original firmware on the motor (which I tried again with the VLCD5 display).

Bafang 850C color LCD, currently working for TSDZ2 motor -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I'm also getting "Waiting for TSZD2" along with the battery voltage. I've tried re-flashing multiple versions of motor and controller. I checked the voltages on the cables from the motor: Black (Ground) Brown 41.7v green 41.7v white 180mv orange 16mv Purple 4.6v This seems at odds with what...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Not sure if better here or own thread, but... My VLCD5 just shows all elements on; ie 88.8, 888.8 all graphs and other elements full. It does this as soon as I plug it in, without pressing any buttons Does anyone why and how it can be fixed? Ideally I'd like to use it tomorrow. I got this...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

For what it's worth - I believe cars and vans are often sold with near identical engines, then different power levels effectiely set by software. The same is also true (or was) for computer chips< LED chips etc - though they may choose the better performing ones to be in the higher specification...

Thoughts on electric-assist push bike trailer

4 years later, we have this... Ezee 200rpm motors with 43mm 20" Unicycle rims and 100mm wide 16" motocross soft/medium rear tyres, 2x40A 12fet controllers with fancy bluetooth stuff. After sorting out various teething issues; it did the job well enough. Wasn't quite as good as it could have...

    What 36/48v controller for ezee 200rpm '250w'

I went for the controller linked below with an offer of 10% less and got it. Still probably double from China, but I can't wait and wanted the option for easy returns. BjRGeVMQNxc I was warned I might need to swap the blue and yellow in each case on the motor to get it to work properly...

    What 36/48v controller for ezee 200rpm '250w'

Cheers; As I understood the 250W (legal limit in the UK) is probably mostly just a sticker with '250w' written on it. Do you have any further information about the above motors? I'm not sure what they'll come with, but the information out there seems to be a bit sparse.

    What 36/48v controller for ezee 200rpm '250w'

I quite like the look of these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162510329537 But expensive. The seller does say "There is 100% garantee that it will work with any brushless sensored motor."

    What 36/48v controller for ezee 200rpm '250w'

Cheers for the update. Backwards wouldn't be the end of the world to me as I haven't yet made brake mounts yet (and may not have them this year - the same trailer has done mostly fine without brakes for the last 9 years*) - possibly given the choice I'd have one running the other direction so...

    What 36/48v controller for ezee 200rpm '250w'

I've got a couple of ezee 200rpm motors on the way and I'm looking for controllers to match. They are going on my trailer project and will be run together in parrallel, run off a single throttle. Ideally a controller that can handle 36v or 48v (I've got a decent lot of 36v batteries, but the...

    48v brushless electric scooter motor?

First off; GNG offer a range of options that look like they could be quite good. This one with a 4 speed + Neutral gearbox which they show towing a truck especially. If I was going to go for something with really chunky wheels (ie quad bike etc), it'd make loads of sense...

    48v brushless electric scooter motor?

I liked the option of having the motor easily disconnected. I had looked at taking the diff and possibly wheels from a quad - which would be great to get over mud, but not so great without power. Two motors is still definitely in contention - if I could find 2 high-torque geared hub motors for...

    48v brushless electric scooter motor?

Actually, looks to not have hall sensors in that one. Presumably would be sensible in this case? This one looks interesting: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381731796828 Presuming it does have sensors from all the wires...

    48v brushless electric scooter motor?

Anyone got suggestions of what would make a suitable drive shaft - will be a bit over a metre long I think, with a sprocket on each end, but driven from near one of those ends. I was hoping someone might have used these before or have some general thoughts on the plan :). 2kw more for...

Anyone tried one? Luna Gravity BBS02 Turn Key Ebike

You can get pannier racks which replace the quick release skewer with their own longer one that holds the pannier on with some spacers, then P clips onto the angled parts of the suspension. They do one for panniers on front suspension too. Not sure of the make, but do have some that are on a...

12T geared rear hub for offroad and climbs?

I presume due to it going from spinning at a decent speed, to a much slower speed? I want to build a powered trailer and will probably end up with hub motor wheels - I've been wondering if the gears might suffer too much dragging up to 200kg through sticky mud up a steepish hill (presuming I...

Need assistance w/ 2x front brakes.

I know it's not what you've asked and you're quite a way down the double-brake route, but do you definitely need two? Generally a high spec hydraulic brake I would expect to offer more than two mechanical calipers. Which leaves heat as the remaining issue. If it is an issue, you could also...

New To E-Bikes, Looking for Advice!

You can get pusher trailers that are basically just a motor, wheel and battery which are intended to provide external electric oomph, so you don't have to add any of the stuff to your bike. They seem to go ok. It was suggested to me I'd do as well with that sort of setup over making a fancy...
