    It all depends on your charger - does it stop at defined voltage or how... You should measure the voltage of your battery and your charger - and know your battery. If your battery is eg. 36 volt lithium ion, it will consist of 10 x cells of each maximum 4.2 v ==> maximum 42 V on the charger...
