    2 48v batteries to 72v

ChatGPT thinks you're talking to ChatGPT. I don't know why its getting so in depth with the responses here, but quoting it is probably giving it what it wants.

Engineering ? Drag from Tensioner vs jackshaft

I think the more important difference would be suspension squat under power, if you're applying that second design to the first bike. The first option seems like a better design even if it comes with a slight efficiency cost. There is a program called linkage that might help you compare the...

    Dual Derailleur Hangers?

https://web.archive.org/web/20180312085133/http://blog.artscyclery.com/science-behind-the-magic/science-behind-the-magic-drivetrain-compatibility/ You just need to find a cable pull length x shift ratio that equals the sprocket pitch of your cassette.

Parallel Charging into three different batteries with separate BMS's

One of my bikes uses 3 separate battery modules with 3 separate BMSs. I charge/ discharge them all together in parallel with no issues. But I built them all from the same cells and used identical common port BMSs.

MAX speed of 30mph on my DIY E-Bike kit. 3000w, 72v battery, 30amp controller. What am I doing wrong?

Power is absolutely the issue when he's only making 2/3 of what the motor kit claims. No battery was mentioned, 72v is an assumption, so 2kw is probably a best case. But you're right, OP should check the free speed with no load on it. And I'd be willing to bet your 35mph 1500w bikes didn't...

    Specialised trail SX

That frame doesn't have bottle cage bolts, does it? It looks like you're putting a lot of faith in those zip ties. It also looks like a fun bike if the battery stays attached.

MAX speed of 30mph on my DIY E-Bike kit. 3000w, 72v battery, 30amp controller. What am I doing wrong?

30mph sounds about right for a 30 amp controller. You need more amps if you want to go faster. If that's 72v you're barely over 2kw.

    SVMC7280(M) wiring

That plug goes to the alarm module on my sabvoton. The orange is an ignition input and the brown is a phase wire/ speed signal.

Some thoughts on the future of automotive EVs

If you believe it when multi billion dollar corporations say they're "losing money", I'm sorry, life must be really hard for you. If there were instances of that actually being true it would be to try to stake a claim of market share, so its still about making them money in the long run.

Some thoughts on the future of automotive EVs

You ever notice how many electric motors it takes to run an ICE engine? The point OP was making is that battery costs are coming down, driving sales volumes up. I agree that ICE car manufacturers have a very refined process, but I can't imagine why you think motors and electronics would be...

Some thoughts on the future of automotive EVs

They already have, by orders of magnitude. I'm not sure how you can compare an electric motor and controller to the complexities of a modern ICE car with all of its emissions controls.

Is the BMS hitting a current limit or an LVC? Do you know that you're actually drawing 200 amps?

Why is it hard to find 86mm crankset

You probably need an internal t47 bottom bracket and a standard width crankset. You can add spacers to take up that difference and possibly add some clearance, but the q factor measurement might be more important for the clearance you need...

Why is it hard to find 86mm crankset

We need to know what bb shell you have in your frame. 68, 73, and 86mm are shell widths, not spindle lengths, so they may already do what you need. BB386evo has a larger shell diameter than anything that would take a 24mm spindle, so it's not either/ or.

Build two wheel drive without cycle analyst

I think his point was that even if you add a second motor it's better for both to drive the rear wheel. 2wd 2 wheelers aren't a new concept, I think history has spoken here too.

inconsistent power from 72v Enduro style ebike

I have no experience with either of these, but it looks like the nd72300 will do up to 100 battery amps and the nd72360 will do up to 190. So if that BMS is rated for 150a continuous you may be able to get more power out of the 72360. If you're not sure whether its a continuous or peak rating...

inconsistent power from 72v Enduro style ebike

The controller looks like a votol, maybe an em100. Just to eliminate them as problems, I would see if you can ride it with the display and/ or the pas unplugged. And you probably want to try a new throttle.

    News of the Weird

You might want to think about why you consider the lethality of their weaponry a defining characteristic of a police officer. Is that for the protecting or the serving?

inconsistent power from 72v Enduro style ebike

It sounds like the controller is hitting a limiter, so its possible that if it has one of those 3 speed switches its going bad. But replacing the controller would have a lot of other benefits. Post a picture of your controller/ display if you want help with that.

    EV 0-100km/h in under 1.0 sec ..

Because a human driver is what makes this a "car". There are plenty of rc drag cars that could smash these numbers. .95 and 1.4 seconds aren't even in the same ballpark concerning 0-60 times. That McMurtry thing is obviously pretty impressive for a road car, but most cars going faster than...

Torque arm on a suspension fork?

That "snide goofball" put a lot more effort into helping you than most will be willing to. A "decent plan to ensure a safety cushion" would be a rear hub motor. You can choose to ignore everyone who doesn't spell things out simply and agree with you, but you won't learn much that way.

    Acceleration fat bike

That should only change how the throttle ramps up as its applied, you put it halfway between minimum and maximum if you want a linear throttle. It shouldn't affect full throttle acceleration at all. But if your throttle isn't actually hitting 4.9v you won't get full power.

    Install a #40 sprocket onto a MY-1020 motor

I apologize, I was assuming we were talking about the brushless my1020. I forgot that this "unite" motor shared the my1020 name and I have 0 experience with it. FWIW, my my1020 spins to about 4700 on 72v, so about 2350 on a hypothetical 36v setup. I thought 2 of that could work well for...

    Install a #40 sprocket onto a MY-1020 motor

You're assuming a lot. There's no vehicle weight, voltage or wheel diameter mentioned. The my1020s wouldn't have to spin to 3000rpm to make 800watts each, and you can find 35 sprockets bigger than 60t. And 550 rpm on an 11" tire is only 18mph, which could be pretty reasonable for 1600w...
