    KT-LCD1 battery voltage setting

That isn't an equation. It has to equal something, such as (LVC + P5)/3.77=1 I don't understand why they are formating it like this, instead of just P5=xxxxxx Like if it was (LVC + P5)/3.77=1 then solve for P5 (if LVC is 40) 40+P5=3.77 P5=-36.23 If it was (LVC + P5)/3.77=0 (multiply both...

    KT-LCD1 battery voltage setting

Oh, I see. So the LVC isn't changeable on the LCD1. P5 was set to 15 for me, I changed it to 0 and it shows full battery now. I'll see if it's more accurate over time and try 10-15 if not. I still don't understand what they're trying to say how to calculate it. LVC+P5/3.77 40+P5/3.77...

    KT-LCD1 battery voltage setting

Can anyone decipher these poorly translated instructions? I'm running a 12s(44.4v) battery, so the default setting for a 48v battery shows my battery as low all the time. And I'd prefer 42v lvc if possible. From the manufacturers manual: http://www.szktdz.com/en/news_show.php?article_id=374...

    controller mounting/cable mess

The controller wires are too short, the connectors would have to be all out of the bag, plus the tons of ugly colored wires. Maybe my OCD is just a little too strong  Cool, I didn't realize they(my local hardware store, actually) sold it by the foot for cheap. Thought I would have to...

    controller mounting/cable mess

I just started re-wiring my controller. There's so much conflicting information everywhere. I'd rather get advice from an e-bike specific source. My controller is rated for 13A/26A burst. What size wire is safe to use for my battery connector, 1-2ft long. I thought I had some 12 awg wire...

    controller mounting/cable mess

I have my controller and batteries in my triangle bag right now. It's okay for short rides, but for longer rides it gets hot. I can't keep my finger on it for more than 2-3 seconds hot. Especially with summer coming, it will be worse. So I need to mount it somewhere it can get some airflow...

    LiPo charging/low input voltage

Ok, I tried another PSU and it works at 4.5A, without any load on the 3v or 5v. So if that's the case, it would just turn off entirely instead of dropping to 10-11v? These extra PSUs I have are really old, from the Pentium 4 era. The second PSU is working at 4.5A, staying at 11v. Is this unsafe?

    LiPo charging/low input voltage

hmmm, yes, I may try putting a load on the 5v rail and see if it improves. I found I can charge at up to 3.5A with the PSU staying at over 10v.

    LiPo charging/low input voltage

I bought this charger thinking it would charge twice as fast as my 50w ac charger that I already had. So you're saying I have to buy a 20v+ power supply to use it to its full capability? It's not possible with any 12v pc power supply? I have a few more I was going to try.

    LiPo charging/low input voltage

I got this charger http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=74030 With these batteries http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=64439 I'm trying to use an old PC power supply. It's rated for 18A on the 12v rail. So I should be able to...

    Overvolting LED

I've never seen more than 1 device connected to a batter, do you just connect it like... parallel with the controller?

    Overvolting LED

Nice blog. I have a light that looks exactly like yours, but the battery "pack" is the size of a single 18650 cell. Should I therefore assume that I need to use 4v instead of 8v if I do something similar to you? Also can you show how you connected it to your battery? Thanks :)

    Need help with budget build

nice, I got my 10ah ones in August, used them to brake my elbow in September, so they've been sitting there unused til this week. Should have just saved my money and got those now

    New rear hub motor instead!

    New disk brakes

I didn't think of looking on ebay, thanks for the tip. One of those links is for a front caliper, will those work on the rear? They don't look very different, but if that is the case I don't see why they would make 2 different ones. Right now Im looking at Used BB5 - $10 New BB5 with rotor-...

    New disk brakes

I bought a new frame, not realizing it didn't have rear V-brake mounts. It's a Trek 3500, yes, it's a low end Trek, but better than my Walmart Mongoose, and I got it for only $30. My yescom ebike kit came with disk brakes, but they are low quality. I adjusted them to get the pads as close as...

    Protective clothing

I bought a motorcycle jacket with elbow and shoulder armor. I broke my elbow back in September and am still recovering so I haven't used it yet, and that is also the reason I bought it (I also needed a jacket for warmth, a sweater is enough in CA, but only if you aren't riding 20mph+), for elbow...

California: AB-1096 to classify an "electric bicycle"

Oh. The articles I read didn't explain it properly :( Oh well, back to just hoping a cop wont stop me as long as I'm not doing anything stupid/dangerous and looking mostly like a normal bike.

California: AB-1096 to classify an "electric bicycle"

As of October there were new laws passed regarding E-Bikes. Not that most of us follow these laws anyways, but we should be aware in-case we are stopped so we know our rights. http://www.peopleforbikes.org/blog/entry/new-e-bike-law-passes-in-california From my understanding you no longer...

    ebike wont power on troubleshooting

I found the problem, the cable for the LCD got kinked and torn from my handlebars turning too far when I crashed. It works if I jiggle the cable, so I'll just have to cut it and re-solder it. :D

    ebike wont power on troubleshooting

A month ago I crashed my bike and broke my elbow, so I haven't been on it since then. I think I powered it on after the crash to make sure it still worked but I'm not 100% sure. Today I tried to turn it on and nothing happens when I press the power button. I have this kit...

    E-bike injuries

Whats the worst thing you all have done to yourself? Last Tuesday... took a corner on the bike trail too fast. I felt like I would slip and fall if I leaned more (in hindsight I could braked a lot more and skid my feet on the ground to stay steady) But the area in front of me looked mostly...
