Hello all,

I am a final year student of the Czech Technical University in Prague, currently writing a thesis on the above topic.
I have dimensioned four variants of a 1500W, 48V, outer rotor direct drive BLDC motor, the motor is applicable to an e-bike based on the European drive cycle.
I will post some pictures of the variants and their solution data, may you all please give me inputs and advice for improving the efficiency of the machine.
Regards
Prathamesh Dusane

The thesis has been submitted, The results are abnormal and unexpected, not great, Magnetic flux densities are in magnitude 3T and excess in stator teeth. Input DC current at start is in order of 1000 amperes. I chose grain oriented steel which had no iron losses and incorrect constants, hence, there were many inaccuracies in the analysis, the deadline forced its submission. Now, i am correcting it. Attached here is the submission.

Hello All,

I have corrected the models and they now show practical values, I have attached a .mxwl file of 4 models of a 1500 W BLDC outer rotor motor 24S/16P, 36S/18P, 48S/22P, 72S/28P. You need ansys maxwell to open such files and also need to initiate analysis in order to view results and plots.

This is the Final Revised Version of the thesis, there are some inconsistencies in the 36 Slot Machine.

Thanking You
